MEETING

Due to a local bereavemen­t the Open Cloonacool Planning Meeting was postponed. The meeting will be re-scheduled. Everyone in the entire Cloonacool area is invited to an open evening of discussion on how people would like to see Cloonacool in 10 years’ time, and the practical things that need doing to get there.

COFFEE MORNING

The recently held coffee morning held at Moy River B&B raised €390 in aid of North West Hospice. Special thanks to all who attended and supported.

‘THE SOUND OF MUSIC’

In order to complete casting fun ‘The Sound of Music’, the Phoenix Players are looking for two boys aged 13 or 14 or 15 to play the role of Friedrich and aged 17 or 18 to play the role of Rolf. Both needs to be singers but no acting experience is necessary. Anyone interested, please contact Tom Walsh at 087 2276628 or any member of the group.

FUNDRAISER

St Michael’s Church Cloonacool Finance Committee are running a fundraiser to boost renovation funds. For the fundraiser, the Swinford Players drama group will present their play entitled ‘For Better, For Worse’ in Cloonacool Community Centre on Friday, October 19, at 8 p.m. It is a threeact comedy written by playwright Jimmy Keary. It is a follow on from last year’s production, which had the audience in howls of laughter all night, and sent everyone home with a smile on their face. This production is guaranteed to be equally as entertaini­ng.

CLOONACOOL CARD

The Cloonacool Card will be moving to the earlier time of 8.30 p.m. from October 1. It will take place every Monday in Cloonacool Community Centre

SOCIAL DANCING.

Social dancing class in the Coleman Centre, Gurteen, every Thursday night at 8 p.m. Learn to jive, quick step, foxtrot, slow waltz, old time waltz, and line dance. Enjoy a night of dancing, fun, and Exercise. Beginners, Improvers. Everyone welcome.

CLOONACOOL LADIES’ GROUP

The Cloonacool Ladies Monday Morning Group meet on Monday mornings from 10.15 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. We looking forward to meeting everyone again and new members are more than welcome.

CLOONACOOL MUSIC CLUB

Takes place on Thursday at Brennan’s Bar from 10 p.m. Come along for a great night of music and singing. There will be a bus available to collect and leave home on Thursday nights for music club. Pick up between 9: 30 and 10 p.m., and then leaving Cloonacool after the food. Please ring 071 9185037 for further informatio­n and to book your seat. There will be a minimal charge for the bus.

TRICK OR TREAT

Fun Halloween Trick or Treat Trail for children from three to eight years old on Tuesday, October 30, at midday, just €5 per child and children must be accompanie­d by an adult at all times.
