SYMPATHY

Sympathy is extended to the daughter Mary, sons Robert and Michael Carragarry, on the death of their father Martin (Marty) Rogan Carragarry, Enniscrone. Sympathy also to his son-in-law Eugene, daughters-in-law Majella and Marguerite, sister Alice (London), grandchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and friends.

Removal took place from McGowan’s funeral home on Wednesday, October 17, to St Joseph’s Church Castleconnor. Burial took place on Thursday after 11 a.m. Mass to St Patrick’s cemetery, Kilglass. May he rest in peace.

HISTORY GROUP

Castleconnor History Group are hosting a Lecture on the History, Archaeology, Geography and Heritage of Tireragh. Lecture delivered by Martin Wilson the president of Sligo Field Club. Venue: Castleconnor Community Centre on November 2 at 8 p.m. Admission €5 (light refreshments served)

FUNDRAISER

There will be a 25 Card Drive in the Village Tavern, Bonniconlon, on Thursday, October 25, in aid of the centre for the Unemployed, Ballina. €500 in Prize Money first Prize €300, second prize €150, third Prize €50. Results for October 13: jackpot €17,200: Numbers drawn were 11, 22, 24 and 37. No jackpot winner; the three €50 winners were John Flynn, Gerard O’Regan and Aisling O’Hara. Next week’s jackpot €17,200.

Garda Dermot Fearon presenting a cheque for €1,021 to his wife Karen Fearon of the CNM2 Oncology Unit at Sligo University Hospital. Dermot ran 36km from Dromohair to Coolaney in July to raise funds for the SHOUT and was raised mostly from Garda personnel in Sligo Station.
