SHAMROCK GAELS

IT has been a long time coming but it was worth the wait when the Gaels lifted the Intermediate Championship beating Curry in the replay on a scoreline of 1-13 to 1-10 in Bunninadden last Sunday. The Gaels got off to a blistering start racing into a five point lead at half time, however a different Curry emerged in the second half and chipped away at the Gaels lead only to go one up with five minutes remaining,

THE Gaels however confounded the critics and dug deep as they have done on so many occasions this year to level the game and it was minor star Dylan Willis who had the final say with a goal in the closing stages to give the Gaels a deserved victory and our third Intermediate Championship. THE team was: Donal Tuohy, Declan Willis, Evan Lyons, Keith McMorrow, Karl McKenna, Paul Higgins (C), Andrew Flynn, Dillon McDermott, Joe Henry, Shane Deignan (0-1), Brian Boyd (02), James Carroll, Darragh Hailstones, Frank Quinn (0-1), David Quinn (0-9). Subs used: Ciaran O’Connor for J Carroll, Seamus Hailstones for S Deignan, Dylan Willis (1-0) for D Hailstones. WELL done to the team and management John McPartland, Gerry Monaghan, Seamus Cawley and Hilary Lyons.

THANKS to all of our supporters who again travelled in large numbers to support the team. We now take on Fenagh-St Caillins from Leitrim next Saturday at 2PM in Enniscrone in the Connacht Championship.

ST. MOLAISE GAELS

IT was a disappointing weekend of championship action for our Boys and Girls.

ON Friday night our Minor Boys went down to a 2-13 to 2-08 defeat by St Mary’s Leitrim in the Connacht Championship quarter final at the Conanacht Centre of Excellence

WHILE our lads battled bravely throughout the game the winners combined good skill with a strong physical advantage that our very young side were unable to match on the evening. HOWEVER given that so many of this squad are eligible at this grade again next year it emphasises again the fantastic achievement in winning a County A title this year. ON Saturday morning our U16 Girls took on CT Gaels in the A Championship final in Kent Park. Both sides deserve great credit for producing such an entertaining contest.

THE final scoreline of CT Gaels 4-10 St Molaise Gaels 2-05 was very harsh on our Girls who led by a point five minutes into the second half. HOWEVER congratulations to CT Gaels but well done to our squad on their achievement in reaching an A Championship final INVITATIONS are invited for the following Team Management roles in the Club for 2019: Senior Men, Development Men and Ladies Junior.

ANYONE interested is asked to give their name to the Club Secretary at 087-2626849 by Sunday evening November 18th. OUR next Club Lotto Draw takes place on Tuesday November 13th at 8.30pm.
