NATIONAL LOTTERY AWARD

Congratulations to Coolaney-Mullinabreena GAA Club, who received a Regional National Lottery Good Causes 2018 award for Sport recently. This follows the Sligo County award. The award is in recognition of the development work at Nace O’Dowd Park. The club is now one of only six clubs in the country in the sports category (all sports) and goes on to the national finals on November 3 in Dublin.

This involved a judging process over the last few weeks. Virgin Media (formerly TV3) visited the park recently to get some footage of girls and boys’ underage coaching sessions and meet some of the users of the park. Thanks to all the coaches, children, parents, St Nathy’s club and all who helped prepare the park for the event. Well done to all and good luck in the final.

This money will be going straight into good use with the purchase of new defibrillators, training equipment and the upkeep and maintenance of existing defibrillators in the local community. A donation will also be made to the Irish Heart Foundation. This equipment and training will be a great asset to the health of the community.
