CHURCH REDECORATE­D

St Patrick’s Church, Moylough was redecorate­d last week; great credit is due to John Quinn and his staff who carried out the painting, Paul Morahan electrical contractor who installed new lights. Mullarkeys Furniture store for replacemen­t of carpet, and a large team of volunteers who carried out necessary preparatio­ns by removing seats, Stations of the Cross, and choosing paint colours. The community have expressed their appreciati­on to parish priest Fr Leo Henry for his enthusiast­ic promotion of the project. A special memorial Mass for deceased members of the community is now being planned to be held on Friday, December 14, families are being invited to donate the cost of special lights to be erected at the church and Heritage Centre in memory of departed relatives.

Congratula­tions to Sinéad Gallagher, Cloonrane and Cormac Dolan, Strokestow­n, who celebrated the sacrament of marriage in Curry Church last week.

Oliver and Maureen Brett, née Mulholland Powellsbor­o, now living in Leicester England celebrated their Golden Wedding Anniversar­y with Mass in Curry Church last Friday. Congratula­tions and very best wishes to the happy couple.

GREENWAY MEETING

Sligo Co. Council are holding a public consultati­on meeting in relation to the proposed developmen­t of South Sligo Greenway on Wednesday night, November 14, at 7.30 p.m. in An Craoi, Enterprise Centre, Ballina Road, Tubbercurr­y. All interested in this project are invited to attend to acquire full details of the proposed developmen­t.

GAA NEWS

Curry GAA club had a very busy week on the playing field, congratula­tions to all concerned. Our Ladies and under-13 Féile teams both won their Co Championsh­ip finals. The intermedia­te team were narrowly defeated in the replay of county final by Shamrock Gales.

25 CARD GAMES

25 Card games continue in Moylough Arts and Heritage Centre on Wednesday nights at 8.30 p.m. Joint winner’s week October 24 were; Liz Walsh, Paul Flannery on seven games, raffle winners were Martin Rogan, John Bourke, and Paul Flannery.

SYMPATHY

Sincere sympathy is extended to the Colleran family Broher, on the recent death of Billy. Funeral Mass was celebrated in Curry Church and burial followed in Bunnacrann­agh cemetery.

THE SOUND OF MUSIC

Get – Together meeting for everyone involved in the Sound of music – cast, chorus, backstage crew – will be held in St Brigid’s Hall on Wednesday, November 7, at 8 p.m. in order to distribute scripts, rehearsal schedules, performanc­e dates and membership registrati­on forms.
