St Pa­trick’s Church, Moy­lough was redecorated last week; great credit is due to John Quinn and his staff who car­ried out the paint­ing, Paul Mo­ra­han electrical con­trac­tor who in­stalled new lights. Mullarkeys Fur­ni­ture store for re­place­ment of car­pet, and a large team of vol­un­teers who car­ried out nec­es­sary prepa­ra­tions by re­mov­ing seats, Sta­tions of the Cross, and choos­ing paint colours. The com­mu­nity have ex­pressed their ap­pre­ci­a­tion to parish priest Fr Leo Henry for his en­thu­si­as­tic pro­mo­tion of the project. A spe­cial me­mo­rial Mass for de­ceased mem­bers of the com­mu­nity is now be­ing planned to be held on Fri­day, De­cem­ber 14, fam­i­lies are be­ing in­vited to do­nate the cost of spe­cial lights to be erected at the church and Her­itage Cen­tre in mem­ory of de­parted rel­a­tives.

Con­grat­u­la­tions to Sinéad Gal­lagher, Cloon­rane and Cor­mac Dolan, Strokestown, who cel­e­brated the sacra­ment of mar­riage in Curry Church last week.

Oliver and Mau­reen Brett, née Mul­hol­land Pow­ells­boro, now liv­ing in Le­ices­ter Eng­land cel­e­brated their Golden Wed­ding An­niver­sary with Mass in Curry Church last Fri­day. Con­grat­u­la­tions and very best wishes to the happy cou­ple.


Sligo Co. Coun­cil are hold­ing a pub­lic con­sul­ta­tion meet­ing in re­la­tion to the pro­posed de­vel­op­ment of South Sligo Green­way on Wed­nes­day night, Novem­ber 14, at 7.30 p.m. in An Craoi, En­ter­prise Cen­tre, Bal­lina Road, Tub­ber­curry. All in­ter­ested in this project are in­vited to at­tend to ac­quire full de­tails of the pro­posed de­vel­op­ment.


Curry GAA club had a very busy week on the play­ing field, con­grat­u­la­tions to all con­cerned. Our Ladies and un­der-13 Féile teams both won their Co Cham­pi­onship fi­nals. The in­ter­me­di­ate team were nar­rowly de­feated in the re­play of county fi­nal by Sham­rock Gales.


25 Card games con­tinue in Moy­lough Arts and Her­itage Cen­tre on Wed­nes­day nights at 8.30 p.m. Joint win­ner’s week Oc­to­ber 24 were; Liz Walsh, Paul Flan­nery on seven games, raf­fle win­ners were Martin Ro­gan, John Bourke, and Paul Flan­nery.


Sin­cere sym­pa­thy is ex­tended to the Colleran fam­ily Bro­her, on the recent death of Billy. Fu­neral Mass was cel­e­brated in Curry Church and burial fol­lowed in Bun­nacran­nagh ceme­tery.


Get – To­gether meet­ing for ev­ery­one in­volved in the Sound of mu­sic – cast, cho­rus, back­stage crew – will be held in St Brigid’s Hall on Wed­nes­day, Novem­ber 7, at 8 p.m. in or­der to distribute scripts, re­hearsal sched­ules, per­for­mance dates and mem­ber­ship reg­is­tra­tion forms.
