TALENT NIGHT

A talent night will be held in St Nathy’s Hall on Saturday, November 17, at 8 p.m. Proceeds towards the annual Christmas party. Raffle on the night.

Achonry parents’ associatio­n are holding an EGM on Tuesday, November 13, at 8 p.m. in St Nathy’s Hall Mullinabre­ena. We hope all families will be represente­d at this meeting.

HEALING EVENT

ORGAN DONOR AWARENESS

The Flanagan family, Coolaney recently sponsored new jerseys for the St Nathy’s Ladies Senior and under-12 teams. The jerseys bear the logo ‘Organ Donor Awareness’ and the family are very generously doing their bit for this crucial awareness campaign. Well done and lets hope it piques the interest of many an observer in the process.

CLOTHES COLLECTION

The parents’ associatio­n of Achonry National School are holding their annual Clothes Collection on Fri/Saturday, November 9/10th and Saturday, November 17, in St Nathy’s Hall. So lets start Packing those bags and pass the word on to extended Family/Neighbours and friends and lets put in a big effort this year. Whats Accepted: All clothing includiing: Underwear/Bed linen/Towels/Curtains/Footwear/ Hand Bags/Belts/Soft Toys.

25 CARD GAME

The popular 25 card game continues every Friday in St Nathy’s Hall at 8.30 p.m. New players are always welcome.

SET DANCING

Set dancing continues in St Nathy’s Hall every Thursday at 8.30 p.m. If sufficient numbers attend, the classes will continue for the winter.

WALKING/RUNNING TRACK

The newly completed walking/ running track at Nace O’Dowd Park is proving a real success with many folk using it on a daily basis. It is contributi­ng hugely to the health and well-being of our community in a real and sustainabl­e way. The club is currently investigat­ing means to fund the installati­on of lighting for the track. The club continues its appeal for fence sign sponsors at the park. YOUNG EXPLORERS

Young Explorers Childcare is having its toddler, Preschool and Afterschoo­l Care open day on Saturday, December 8, from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. in the Young Explorers purpose built facility in Abhainn Mór, Collooney.

On the day we will have toddler, preschool teachers and afterschoo­l educators giving informatio­n about themselves and their roles as well as the daily routine and activities in each of our rooms. We will be giving tours of the building and outdoor areas and will be able to provide support to parents wishing to complete enrolment forms. Enrolment packs will be available on the day.

We advise early booking to guarantee your place for January/September 2019. We are providers of the Affordable Childcare Subvention Schemes. We open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. for 50 weeks of the year. Students from Summerhill and Coláiste Muire, Ballymote participat­ed in a workshop that visited their schools. Bin It! featured an actor-led workshop aimed at first and second year students, incorporat­ing a theatre-in-education session which encourages students to dispose of gum litter, and litter more generally, in a responsibl­e manner.
