Winter Wonderland at Quayside

-

THE festive season is officially starting at Quayside this Friday 23rd November with the launch of the hugely popular Winter Wonderland. As well as amazing Black Friday discounts across all stores, with some offers of up to 70% off, the festive fun will commence on Friday 23rd as the artisan Christmas Market opens and the guest of Honour Santa Claus opens his Grotto for the Season.

“Last year we created a multi-story winter wonderland, with amazing decor from Feehily’s Florists, rustic Christmas market stalls and of course Santa’s grotto. It was amazingly popular with so many people saying they had never seen something like it in the north west. This year we are building on that success and are looking forward to welcoming families from across the region to immerse themselves in a truly magical experience”, said centre Manager Ms. Christine Dolan.

Santa Claus himself will be starting a tour of Sligo town in his horse drawn carriage at 5pm and will make his way through the streets of Sligo before arriving back at the main Wine Street entrance to Quayside at 6pm for the official opening of his Grotto.

The guest of honour will be greeted by the men and ladies of the Sligo Gospel Choir who will be singing hymns and seasonal favourites for all the boys and girls as they wait to open the Grotto.

“The boys and girls of Sligo were very good all year, so myself and my elves are going to be in Quayside shopping centre in Sligo from November 23rd and every weekend in December to give them a little present and have a photo taken and hear what it is they are hoping to get on Christmas eve for being so good”, said Santa speaking from the north pole.

Santa’s winter woodland and Grotto, which has been specially imported from the north pole for the occasion, will be open from 6.30pm to 8pm on Friday 23rd and from 12 noon to 5pm on Saturday and Sunday 24 th and 25 th November.

After the opening weekend the grotto opening hours will be 3pm to 6pm every Friday and 12 noon to 5pm every Saturday and
