SYMPATHY

Sympathy is extended to the son John, daughters Mary, Patsy and Teresa on the death of their mother Mary Queenan Leaffoney Kilglass. Sympathy also to her grandchild­ren, in laws, relatives and friends.

The remains were removed from McGowan’s Funeral Home Ballina on Saturday, November 10, to the Church of the Holy Family Kilglass and burial took place after midday Mass to St Patrick’s Cemetery Kilglass. May she rest in peace.

CHRISTMAS MARKET

This will be held in the Ocean Sands Hotel Enniscrone on Sunday, December 2, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. There will be Santa Claus for the children, a Woodturnin­g Demonstrat­ion, Craft Stalls, Home baking, Ceramics, Jewellery etc. many handmade locally. Great Christmas gift ideas for everyone.

NATALIE’S WISHES

The cake sale was a great success and we would like to thank everyone that supported the event on the day for their kindness and generosity and McNulty’s bar for hosting the event.

The proceeds from the cake sale will be going towards a Santa experience for the children, this event will be held in the Family Resource Centre on December 1 at 2 p.m. and the remaining money will be used to provide food hamper for the homeless in Sligo.

FUN BEAT THE INTRO QUIZ

This takes place every Friday night in Sheridan’s bar Kilglass at 9 p.m. Entry fee is only €2 with the proceeds going to Kilglass Community Council Cardens Developmen­t Fund. Please support.

SOCIAL BRIDGE CLUB

Enniscrone Social Bridge Club takes place at the Diamond Coast Hotel every Wednesday night commencing at 7.30 p.m. The Winners on November 14 were. North/South, Anna Ryan and Teresa Ford, East/West. Ita Faughnan and Dympna Hannon. Well done to everyone.

ENNISCRONE/ KILGLASS GAA

The Enniscrone-Kilglass/ Easkey under-21 footballer­s are through to the semi-final stages of the A championsh­ip. Thanks to our fantastic team of stewards who provided great hospitalit­y once again for Connacht Club Junior Football Championsh­ip tie between Easkey and Balla. A word of praise too to our pitch committee who had the playing surface in superb shape despite heavy rain in the week leading up to the fixture.

Pride of place this week goes to Gavin Duffy, Oisin Hynes and Michael Duffy following Sligo’s capture of the under-16 Fr Manning Cup title in Longford last Saturday. With Gavin at corner forward, Oisin at wing back and Michael in the Bainisteoi­r’s bib, Sligo ended as 2-14 to 1-9 winners. Well done to the lads and everyone involved on a great success for the county.

The club has secured planning permission for the erection of floodlight­s on our main playing pitch at Quigabar.

BLOTTO DRAW

There was no winner of the €2,800 jackpot when draw took place in the Pilot Bar on Saturday night last. Numbers drawn were 16, 31 and 32. €25 winners were Bren and Jen, Mike Renouf, Mark Denson and Colman Larkin. Jackpot for €3,000 the next draw will take place in the Atlantic Inn, Kinard on Saturday, November 17. Enniscrone Community Walking Group: With Christmas just around the corner why not start a healthy habit and join us for a friendly stroll and chat around Enniscrone, every Tuesday morning from 11 to 12. PARENT AND TODDLER

The parent and toddler group are looking for someone to assist with and take a creative lead in providing basic music activities for the children who attend the group on a Wednesday from 10 a.m. to midday eg; common childhood songs, also inter-generation­al music and songs. Singers, Dancers and musicians are welcome to bring their own instrument­s and the parent and toddler group will provide small musical instrument­s (shakers, rattles etc).Open to adults of all ages. What’s required for this position. Someone that enjoys music and song that can interact in a playful fun way with parents and young children. When working with babies and toddlers an easy going nature would be needed.

This is a role that could fit well with maybe the Active Retirement Group and this would encourage more inter-generation­al involvemen­t.
