Games Forms are now available. Your child will receive the form at the local school. If your child attends a school outside Coolaney, the applicatio­n form can be picked up from O’Grady’s shop.

Points to note when completing the 2019 form: Ensure your child enters ALL events they are eligible for (age wise) AND events can only be run if we get enough help etc. And participat­ion). Any child who is four by July 31 can compete in under-six art, under-six 60m and can join the toddler race at our track and field event.

Ensure the applicatio­n form is signed by both competitor and parent/guardian. Ensure completed form and fee is returned no later than Monday, January 28.

80S DISCO IN COOLANEY

Café Fia present Back to the 80s Disco with DJ Cliff in the Happy Landing on Saturday, February 16, at 9 p.m. Tickets €10 and can be bought from Andrew Pyne, Caroline Pyne, Cheryll McCaull, Joe Fogerty, June Boyle and Caitriona McGoldrick. Limited number of tickets on the door on the night. Fancy Dress Optional.

WATER BOIL NOTICE

It has come to the attention of Irish Water and Sligo County Council that the water supply served by the Lough Talt Public Water Supply is contaminat­ed with cryptospor­idium. Following consultati­on with the HSE, Irish Water and Sligo County Council are issuing a Boil Water Notice with immediate effect to protect the health of consumers.

This notice applies to all consumers on the Lough Talt Public Water Supply and consumers on the Ogham water scheme which is served from the Lough Talt supply. All customers must boil their water before drinking. A map of the Lough Talt and Ogham schemes, detailing the areas affected, is available on water.ie and sligococo.ie.

GAA CLUB NEWS

Operation Transforma­tion Group: In conjunctio­n with the local Operation Transforma­tion Group, Nace O’Dowd Park will be lit up on Thursday evenings for the next six weeks (until February 21) from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. to facilitate a safe environmen­t for walking. Everyone taking part must register. All welcome, spread the word.

Defibrilla­tor: The new Defibrilla­tor is now installed at Nace O’Dowd Park. Several club players, members and coaches have already completed a CPR training course. Another course will take place in February. Contact Lorraine Feely immediatel­y at 087 6779836 to book your place for this very important training.

Volunteers: We’re looking for new club volunteers. If interested, we’d love to hear from you and gain an extra pair of hands to help in whatever way you can. Club lotto: Over the coming weeks, the club will be re-launching our lotto brand for 2019. We look forward to your continued support of this vital fundraiser for the day to day running of the club.

Club Membership 2019: Player Membership from under-six to Senior Level is mandatory to be covered to train/play under the GAA Injury Benefit fund. We ask all players, coaches, members and supporters to register at the earliest convenienc­e. All technical issues with our Membership Forum have been rectified.

COOLANEY UNITED

Bonus Ball: The Coolaney United Saturday night Bonus Ball Draw continues. The cost per ball is €5 and the weekly jackpot prize is €100. Bonus balls can be purchased in PK MEATS and O’Gradys shop. Thank you to all players and best of luck for the year ahead.

Directory: The 2019 Coolaney United Local Services Directory are printed and will be delivered to every household in the Coolaney and Ballinacar­row area Free of Charge over the next two weeks. Copies of the Directory will be available to pick up in the local pubs, churches and shops in the Coolaney and Ballinacar­row area also. COOLANEY NATIONAL MOUNTAIN BIKE CENTRE.

IMPORTANT NOTICE – We have been asked to reiterate that the Coolaney Trails are not to be ridden till they have had sufficient time to bed in.

Riding the trails now will damage the surface and delay to project. In addition, many people have been seen riding down the climbing trail at speed which is very dangerous and this weekend some people even cycled through an area that Clixbys trail builders were working on. Please stay away. It will be worth it.

HATHA YOGA

Adults Hatha Yoga classes started again in Coolaney Community Centre end of January on Wednesday the 23rd at 7 a.m. and Thursdays 24th at 7 p.m. Classes will run for at least eight weeks. Adults €10 drop in or six classes for €50.

CARD GAMES

Card game takes place in Killoran Community Centre on Wednesdays at 9 p.m. and in Ballinacar­row Community Centre on Thursdays at 9 p.m. All are very welcome.

WOMEN’S GROUP

Coolaney Women’s Group Meetings continue in Coolaney Community Centre Thursdays at 10.30 a.m. The interactiv­e classes include activities, occasional days out and profession­al people to give talks and classes. New members are very welcome. Open to all ages.

JUNIOR YOUTH GROUP

Meetings are every Wednesday evening at 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Coolaney Community Centre for Youths between the ages of 12-15.

FORÓIGE CLUB

Foróige Club is for secondary school youths aged 12 to 18. The club takes place every Friday evening in the Coolaney Community Centre.
