EASKEY GAA

The Easkey GAA Celebratio­n dinner dance will take place on Saturday, February 16, in the Ocean Sands Hotel. Tickets will be on sale on Saturday, February 2, 10.midnight in the community centre. Tickets are limited so it is advisable to purchase your tickets on this morning. Cost is €30 per ticket. DJ Scruffy Duffy and Guest Speaker on the night. This will be a great night of celebratio­n marking the huge successes in the club in the last year.

EOGHAN RUA LGFA

Eoghan Rua LGFA annual Awards night will take place on Saturday, February 2 in the Diamond Coast Hotel at 8 p.m. Night will consist of medal presentati­on, buffet meal and disco. Tickets cost €15 adult and €10 child. Special guest on the night will be Sligo LGFA Player Katie Walsh. Tickets can be booked through committee members.

An open evening will take place at Rathlee National School on Thursday, February, 14 from 6.30 to 7.30. p.m. The children will have an opportunit­y to play and see their classroom and you will have the opportunit­y to meet the teachers, see our facilities.

CAPTAIN JACQUI

Sligo LGFA is delighted to announce that Jacqui Mulligan will be Captain of the intermedia­te team for the 2019 season. The St Farnan’s veteran takes over the captaincy from Noelle Gormley. It has been 19 years since Jacqui first wore the Sligo Jersey and is as eager as ever to get back into action for 2019.Sligo start their Lidl NFL at home to Meath on Saturday, February 2 at 2 p.m. in Cloonacool.

EASKEY GAA

Well done and congratula­tions to Easkey, who will contest the all-Ireland junior club final after beating Donegal’s Red Hugh’s in the semi-final, played in Ballinamor­e. The Croke Park date with Beaufort of Kerry is on Saturday, February 9, at 3 p.m. Tickets cost €20 and can be purchased at centre, Enniscrone, SuperValu, Ballina or online.

The club is selling tickets for the National Club Draw which has a first prize of a Renault Clio and second prize of a travel voucher to value of €2,000 and many other great prizes. Please support the club with its great success in Football, Hurling, Rounders and Scór. Cost per ticket €10.

CHILDREN’S CYCLING CLASSES

A four-week programme in Children’s Cycling Classes starts on Saturday, February 16, at the West Sligo FRC in Enniscrone. Cost €10. A fun taster cycle for children seven to 12 years. Booking is essential at 096 37444.

WINDMILL PLAYERS

Windmill Players, Dromore West are back in action in Ballintogh­er Hall, performing Sam Cree’s, ‘Don’t Tell the Wife’. on Saturday and Sunday February 2 and 3 at 8 p.m. Admission €10, tickets for sale, contact Mary at 087 9964143. Great night’s entertainm­ent.

25 CARD GAME

A progressiv­e 25 card game is held in Easkey in the school beside the church on Sundays at 8 p.m. Cost is €7 including raffle. Proceeds towards work on the cemetery which is due to start shortly. All card players welcome.

There was no winner of the jackpot in the Easkey lotto draw on January 18. Numbers drawn8, 15, 17, and 32. €25 winners; Fred Queenan, Séamus Duffy, Michael Weir, Tracey Lenehan, Olive Campbell. MEN’S SHED

A Men’s Shed is being set up in Enniscrone. A meeting will be held on Tuesday, February 12, from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the FRC. If you are interested in DIY, Woodwork/Carpentry, arts and crafts or any other area of interest, the Men’s Shed would be delighted to hear from you. It is a pressure free environmen­t in which to share skills, make new friends and connect with your community and each member is free to participat­e in their own way and at their own pace.
