Man and woman sent for trial for assault

A man and woman from Sligo have been sent forward for trial to Sligo Circuit Court for assault causing harm.

Gregory Nooney of 10, Oak Park, Magheraboy and Ruth Nooney of 17, Treacy Avenue, Sligo, appeared before Sligo District Court where they were formally sent for trial for assault causing harm to Gavin Pritchard.

It is alleged the male and female assaulted Mr Pritchard on October 20 th, 2017 at Stephen St car park in the town, causing him harm.

Garda Keith Marren told the court that he met Gregory Nooney (23) and Ruth Nooney (34) and served them with the Books of Evidence prior to the court sitting.

Both of the accused were remanded on continuing bail to appear before the next sitting of Sligo Circuit Court on February 12 th next.

Legal aid was granted on behalf of both the accused.
