‘Vote of confidence’ for reforming offender
A 39-year-old man who was threatening and abusive at the Clayton Hotel in 2017 has received the benefit of the Probation Act.
Matthew Mulholland of West 63, Strandhill Rd, pleaded guilty to the charge of threatening and abusive behaviour at the hotel on July 26 th, 2017, along with possession of cannabis at Ballymote Garda Station on the same date.
The court heard Mulholland had spent three months in a treatment centre and was now ‘feeling positive’. Judge Kevin Kilrane said, ‘We’ ll give you a vote of confidence’ before applying the act,
