PARK LIGHTS

The new walking track at Nace O’Dowd Park will continue with the ‘Ireland Lights Up’ initiative every Thursday in February from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Temporary lights are in place in conjunctio­n with the local Operation Transforma­tion programme and Get Ireland Walking. Everyone welcome.

RSS SCHEME

A position is now available on the Sligo Leader Rural Social Scheme at Nace O’Dowd Park Achonry. Contact Declan Foley at 087 6263299 or any club officer for details.

POST UPRIGHT

After a number of weeks in a horizontal position, the local post box at Homeland, Achonry is back in its rightful ‘upright’ position. This should ease the pressure on a lot of sore backs in the area.

BLOOD DONATION

Blood Donation Clinic in St Brigid’s Hall, Tubbercurr­y on Thursday, February 7, from 4.30 p.m. to 8 p.m. As always, the demand for blood continues and every possible donation is desperatel­y needed. Injured and sick people live because other people give. Blood is life and giving some is one of the greatest gesture of love and care that most people will ever have chance to avail of.

NEW LOTTO

Coolaney-Mullinabre­ena GAA have relaunched their lotto fundraiser this week. All proceeds go towards day to day club expenses along with park developmen­t expenses. New subscriber­s are very welcome. All support is greatly appreciate­d.

DEFIBRILLA­TOR TRAINING

25 CARD GAME

The popular 25 card game continues every Friday in St Nathy’s Hall at 8.30 p.m. New players are always welcome.

SET DANCING

set dancing continues in St Nathy’s Hall every Thursday at 8.30 p.m. Junior sets are from 7.45 p.m. till 8.30 p.m. and proving really popular in recent weeks. If sufficient numbers attend, the classes will continue for the winter.
