MEETING ON TOWN’S FUTURE
The future direction of many aspects of commercial and social life going forward in Manorhamilton will be the major topic that will be down for discussion at a public meeting that takes place in the Bee Park Community Centre on this Friday night, February 8, at 7.30 p.m.
Everyone in Manorhamilton and its surrounds are cordially invited to this Friday night public meeting.
Manorhamilton Enterprise Forum, who have organised the public meeting, say they ‘wish to invite business people, all community groups and residents of Manorhamilton to come along to a public meeting to discuss what is needed and the way forward for our town.’.
Regarding the public meeting the Enterprise Forum also adds ‘please come along to have your say.’ Information on proposed new developments and plans for Manorhamilton will be revealed at the public meeting.
Big changes and improvements have taken place in Manorhamilton over the past number of years and further development is expected in North Leitrim’s principle town and major centre of employment in the near future.
All, who attend Friday night week’s public meeting on Manorhamilton’s future development will have an opportunity to make an input on it and perhaps make a visionary proposal or proposals that will lead to more improvements going forward, which will be for the benefit of all residing, visiting and working in the town.
MARGARET’S HONOURS
Top honours were claimed by Margaret Sweeney when the recent exciting North Leitrim Men’s Group progressive ‘25’ card drive concluded in the Bee Park Community Centre.
Margaret outplayed all her excellent opponents to win at the heel of the hunt while Tom Thornton and Pat Lunney jointly claimed the progressive ‘25’ card drive’s runner-up prize. It was a great night’s card playing for all participants with all battling hard to get into the winner’s enclosure.
Gerry Fee claimed the card drive’s table prize. The card drive’s raffle was won by Brendan Devaney with Patrick McGourty taking the second prize and Enda McLoughlin picked up the raffle’s third prize.
The next North Leitrim Men’s Group progressive ‘25’ card drive will take place in the Bee Park Community Centre at 9 p.m. on this Sunday night, February 10. The jackpot for Sunday night’s card game will be €140 on nine games.
POPE JOHN PAUL II AWARDS
The parish of Cloonclare-Killasnett (Manorhamilton-Glencar-Mullies) Parish is inviting young people between the ages of 16 and 18 to participate in the Pope John Paul II achievements award programme, which is similar to the Gaisce presidents Award scheme.
All young people from the Cloonclare-Killasnett, who are interested are invited to contact Emma, phone 087 3166421 for more information on the Pope John Paul II Awards. Gold, silver and bronze awards are obtainable for participants in the John Paul II Awards programme.
ASTHMA SOCIETY
The Asthma Society thanks all who contributed to their recent church gate collection. A sum of €275 was contributed at St Clare’s Church Manorhamilton and a sum €60 was contributed at the Church of the Annunciation, Mullies.
