THE KEEPER

On the occasion of the 60th anniversar­y of The Niland Collection, The Model proudly presents a major exhibition that considers art collection­s as living repositori­es of thoughts and ideas. The Keeper is an ambitious show that features over 150 artworks by 65 Irish and internatio­nal artists, working across more than 100 years of history reflected in artistic practice. The exhibition begins this Saturday at The Model.

ON BLUEBERRY HILL

Following its off-Broadway run, the Irish tour of ‘On Blueberry Hill’ begins with a visit to the Hawk’s Well Theatre tomorrow (Wednesday). In Sebastian Barry’s unique style, ON BLUEBERRY HILL features best of friends and worst of enemies Christy and PJ. This new play is bursting with humanity, as it explores murder, forgivenes­s, survival and, ultimately, love in the prison of the human heart.

St. Brigid’s Day comes to the Hamilton Gallery this Saturday. The iconic early Christian symbol St Brigid has been chosen to serve as a catalyst for 90 invited Irish women artists to create an original painting for this exhibition. The exhibition visited the 12 Star Gallery before coming to Sligo.

Patrick Feeney is highly regarded as one of Ireland’s finest singers and entertaine­rs and is enjoying glittering success over the past number of years scoring countless No.1 hit songs and winning numerous awards for his highly acclaimed live show. He comes to the Hawk’s Well this Thursday, February 7th.

A poker night takes place in The Owenmore Inn on Sunday 10th February @ 4pm. Promises to be a great night. There will be free transport to and from the event. Half of the prize pool goes to Owenmore Gaels GAA Club. Entry fee is €20.

“Say it With Brushes” by John Cullen, opens on Friday the 8th of February at 7.30pm and runs until the 2nd of March at Solas Art Gallery, Ballinamor­e. John states that he wants his art to reflect the fragility of our eco-system and environmen­t, a process in flux and degradatio­n,
