DEATH

The death has taken place of Mae Cawley née Nixon, Carrowmarb­le, Dromore west and late of Breaffy, Ballina. Her remains were removed from McGowan’s Funeral Home to the Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Succour for Requiem Mass. Burial took place in Churchill Cemetry. Sympathy is extended to her husband Michael, cousins, relatives and friends.

EASKEY CASTLE FUN RUN

The Easkey Castle annual 5k/10K/10 Miler Fun Run takes place on Sunday, April 14.

CHAMPIONS RETURN HOME

Hundreds of people gathered in Easkey on Sunday, February 10, to welcome back their heroes from Croke Park. Easkey Sea Blues are County Champions, Connaught Champions and best of all are Easkey champions. Huge congratula­tions to them for what they have achieved in the past year and thanks to Dessie, Shane, Vincent and Paul for all the hard work they have done with the lads. The first ever Sligo men’s club team to get to Croke Park to play in an all-Ireland Final, this was an amazing achievemen­t and the whole parish enjoyed the journey with them.

RACE NIGHT

On Sunday, April 21, St Far- nan’s GAA Club will hold a race night at 8 p.m. in the Beach Bar.

A social dance with dancing to Michael Walsh takes place in Skreen-Dromard community centre on Saturday, February 23, at 10 p.m.

25 CARD GAME

A progressiv­e 25 card game is held in Easkey in the school beside the church on Sundays at 8 p.m. Cost is €7 including raffle. Proceeds towards work on the cemetery which is due to start shortly. All card players welcome.
