aul ran for the first time 5 years ago and was selected to represent the municipal district of Tubbercurry, Ballymote & West Sligo area. Paul who was born, reared and has lived all his life in his native home town of Gurteen, believes, that not only is Gurteen his local but the whole of South and West Sligo is his local and only together can we ensure the communities thrive and support each other across the whole of the region.

Paul is married to Naomi and together they have 4 children, who are all involved in local community activities. Paul well known for his football skills had to prove to the people of South and West Sligo that football was not his only talent. Paul has worked tirelessly for the people of constituency through campaigning for local events and activities. Over the last 5 years Paul has worked for many families on private issues including housing, medical cards, home help, schooling, support for children. Paul has also worked on many community initiatives with local community groups right across the local area and saw many too completion, with many more in the pipeline which Paul will help and campaign to ensure they and seen to fruition.

However there have not been all successes over the last 5 years, the two of the biggest fights for Paul have been Gurteen Post Office and the current Lough Talt Water Treatment Plant, however Paul refuses to give up and will continue to fight these local issues and any more local issues, until they are resolved to the satisfaction of the local communities in South & West Sligo. Paul has publicly stated “the loss of the Gurteen post Office and the continuous ongoing issue with the water here, has proved to that regardless of what the statistics may say nothing is safe, especially in Rural Ireland.” Rural Broadband is an area which Paul has continuously campaigned on and Paul will not give up the fight, as this is an area which is of great importance to help the survival of the area.

Therefore, Paul is the asking people to protect local, vote local and let’s continue together to protect our local area to ensure the survival of our local services and build on our infrastructure. Paul a parent, and who’s been fortunate enough to live in South Sligo all his life, want’s his children and the children of South and West Sligo to have the choice to stay, and not to be forced out of their communities. Paul want the children and the children of south and west Sligo to be able to have the option to live in their own communities, work in their own communities and be a part of their own communities, that is why Paul has decided to consent this local election so Paul can continue to work for and on behalf of the people of South & West Sligo. To ensure that together, we can continue to build the services, within the whole of the constituency area across South & West Sligo. Paul’s local is South & West Sligo and Paul will continue to work for all of the people of South and West Sligo.
