CHRISTMAS BAZAAR

Ballymote North West Hospice Support Group will be holding their annual Christmas Bazaar in the Loftus Hall on Sunday, December 1, commencing at 3 p.m.

Events will include ticket sales with great stage prizes, bric-àbrac and Santa will be dropping by. For the children there will be Lucky Dip and Burst the Balloon. Tea and coffee will also be served along with some nice buns and biscuits. Please come along on the day and bring a friend and help support this worthy cause.

CORRAN PLAYERS

The Corran Players are delighted to announce that preparatio­ns are well under way for their annual Christmas Pantomime. This year’s production is ‘The Frozen Kingdom’ and will take place in the Loftus Hall in Ballymote on Friday the sixth, Saturday and Sunday, December 7, and eight, at 8 p.m. There will be a matinee show on Sunday, December 8, at 2.30 p.m. Tickets are currently on sale in Lavin’s Menswear or by contacting the booking line at 087 6740824. Secure your tickets and start the Christmas season off with a night filled full of music, dance, laughter and madness. Show suitable for all ages.

Sympathy is extended to the family, relatives and friends of Margaret (Peig) Mullen, Drumfin; Ernie Higgins, Sligo; Seán Davey, Kilbeggan and formerly Marren Park; Brenda Duffy, Creamery Road, whose deaths occurred recently.

THE QUIET MAN

The Quiet Man starring John Wayne will show in the Coleman Music Centre Theatre on Thursday, November 28, at 2.30 p.m. as part of their new cinema club. Come along and bring a friend and sit back in our warm and cosy tiered seated theatre. Membership is €4 per film.

This concert will be a mix of Irish folk songs and Christmas numbers. Frenchpark native, Bernadine Casserly was a winner of Roscommon’s Got Talent in 2009 and she has more recently played support to Jack L and Nathan Carter. She joined De Dannan as lead vocalist in 2014, following previous leading ladies Dolores Keane and Mary Black. Anne Kielty is from Boyle and is currently the Musical Director of Boyle Musical Society. She also teaches in St Nathy’s College Ballaghade­rreen.
