SYMPATHY

Our Sincere sympathies are offered to the family and relatives of Noel Beglane Dromore West, Noel passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his heart broken family. Noel is survived by his wife Nora, his five children Charlotte, Vanessa, Noel David, Dermot, Brendan and their partners, husband and wives, his 11 cherished grandchild­ren, brothers, one sister, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and extended family and friends.

He reposed at Sweeney’s Funeral Home Dromore West on Thursday last from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Requiem Mass on Friday at midday in the Church of Our Lady of Perpetual Succor, Dromore West, with burial afterwards in Churchill Cemetery. May he Rest in Peace.

Congratula­tions to the parents of baby Emily Aoife Conway daughter of Paddy and Bredge Bartra Enniscrone, and husband Pádraig Clince. Congratula­tions also to the proud grandparen­ts Paddy and Bredge Conway.

DIAMOND WEDDING ANNIVERSAR­Y

Congratula­tions to Edward and Maura Kilcullen of Boat Port Lodge, Cliff Road, Enniscrone, who celebrated their Diamond Wedding Anniversar­y (60 years). We wish them both continued health.

WALKING CLUB

Next walk is on November 30 – Glinsk. Level moderate, Terrain Open Mountain, length four hours. All walks subject to change pending weather or other conditions at time. Walks start from Enniscrone Tourist Office at 9.30.

ENNISCRONE KILGLASS GAA

The club was very pleased to receive a grant of €37,881 under the Sports Capital Programme for 2019. The money will go towards floodlight­ing our main playing pitch at Quigabar. Our thanks to those who prepared and submitted our applicatio­n and to Senator Frank Feighan and Cllr Sinéad Maguire for their efforts. More news on this project in the coming weeks.

Best of luck to the Sligo under-16 footballer­s in the Fr Manning Cup final next weekend.

BOOK LAUNCH

The Windings of the Moy Revisited is a new book that will be launched in the Ocean Sands Hotel on Friday, November 29, at 8 p.m. The new book by Sligo photograph­er, Pat McCarrick, is a reworking of the original Windings of the Moy by Rev James Greer (1845 – 1929) and was first published in 1923. All welcome to attend.

SENIOR CHRISTMAS PARTY

Kilglass Culleens Community host their annual Senior Christmas party on Sunday, December 8, from 1.30 p.m. at the Ocean Sands Hotel, three course meal compliment­ary drink, music, dancing and raffle.

WOMENS ACIVITY CLUB

The ladies are hosting a Christmas Market on December 15 in the Diamond Coast Hotel, have a look into Santa’s workshop and buy those last gifts, all welcome to attend.

BLOTTO

There was no winner of the €8,400 jackpot when the blotto draw took place in Hopkin’s bar last weekend. Numbers drawn were 02, 03, and 29 €25 winners were, Paul Hannon, Trevor Keig, Mary Scott and Margaret Connaughto­n.jackpot for the next draw is €8,600 and will take place on Saturday, November 23, in the Ocean Sand’s Hotel.

KILGLASS ENNISCRONE UNITED FC

Kilglass Enniscrone soccer club is holding two quiz nights in Gilroy’s Bar and Sheridan’s Bar for’ Eddie and Gerry’ chosen charities. First quiz in Gilroy Bar Friday, December 6. All proceeds from both have chosen charities the Oncology Unit Sligo General and little people of Ireland. Billy Varley will be the quiz master on the night pleases support. More details to follow.

KEFC under-12 girls’ team registered their first win on Saturday, November 9, with a very convincing performanc­e against Ballisodar­e United. Goals from Ava Hallinan, Laoise Carden, Roise Egan and Tara Arthur helped to secure the three point win. The future looks bright for this great bunch of girls. Training continues Monday evening 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.

SOCIAL BRIDGE CLUB

Enniscrone Social Bridge Club has resumed play at the Diamond Coast Hotel each Wednesday commencing at seven. As usual a very enjoyable night was had at Bridge in the Diamond Coast Hotel. 32 people played. Eight tables. The winners N/S Anne Freeman and Loretta Tuffy E/W Anne and John Fleming. Hard to believe it is only 2 weeks till our annual turkey competitio­n where has that year gone.

AFTERNOON TEA DANCE

The West Sligo Young at Heart afternoon tea dance is on Thursday, December 5, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. in the Ocean Sands Hotel, Enniscrone – a great afternoon’s entertainm­ent with refreshmen­ts, raffle and lots of dancing.
