ST. MARY’S COLLEGE BALLISODARE CHRISTMAS FAYRE.
St. Mary’s College Christmas Fayre is a roaring success
The St. Mary’s College Parents’ Association welcomed a large crowd to their first “Christmas Fayre” on Friday 6 th December.
With 26 stalls and plenty of activities for youngsters, there was a wonderful festive atmosphere and lots of fun for all the family.
Visitors were entertained by a variety of groups including a group of students from St John’s National School, the St Mary’s College Choir and the Lost and Found Music Club under the guidance of Eamonn Lawless. ‘Elf School’ was a big hit where children got to make their own Christmas decorations and put together some magic reindeer food to take home.
St Mary’s College students helped with face painting and Santa himself came along to entertain the younger children. There was also a pop-up cinema where families got a chance to take a break from the activities and enjoy some quiet time with popcorn and drinks.
The Parents’ Association would like to thank everyone who came and supported the Fayre, especially all the vendors and sponsors.
The Parents’ Association would also like to thank St Mary’s College staff, teachers, parents and students who gave so generously of their time and the various groups who provided musical entertainment on the night.
Without their contribution the Fayre could not have been the phenomenal success it has been. There has already been queries for the 2020 Christmas Fayre.
Moneys raised from the Fayre will go towards the purchase of new sports equipment for the school, which, in conjunction with the recent announcement of funding for sports development within the school, will see an enhanced sports programme being made available to students.
An open evening will be held in St Mary’s College Ballisodare (071-9167579) on Thursday January 23rd from 7pm to 9pm where prospective students and their families are invited to come along
