Condolences to the Filan Family THE President, Club Officers and Members of Sligo RFC wish to extend their sincere condolences to all the Filan family, on the sad passing of Mae Filan on Sunday. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a h-anam dílis. Mae was the mother of Liam, former Senior club player, Connacht Youth Interprovincial player and current U16 boys coach. Finbarr is a former Senior team captain, Juvenile Coach, Connacht Under 20 & Junior Interprovincial Player. Mae was also the beloved grandmother of Ellie, current U16 Girls player, & Hugo, who plays with the Sligo U16 boys’ team. May she rest in peace.
Grovember Fundraiser
WELL done to Sligo RFC Senior player Thomas Gormley who raised €400 with his Grovember fundraiser and donated all the proceeds to Sligo Cancer Support Services.
Connacht Senior Cup Final SLIGO RFC had to bridge a gap of 103 years to win the Connacht Senior Cup for the second time, but now the club is back in the final twice in three years.
Having won the Connacht Senior League for the first time in the club’s history, Sligo now have the opportunity to do the League & Cup double this Sunday, 22nd December in The Sportsground, Galway when they play Galway Corinthians at 1.30pm.
Sligo RFC is renowned for their travelling support and this Sunday, they need the lads to hear that support in The Sportsground. A supporters’ bus will be leaving from The Harp Tavern at 9.30pm.
