Sligo Food Trail’s remarkable year

Sligo Food Trail has produced a video which highlights its Taste the Island events.

The Trail’s members embraced Fáilte Ireland’s innovative Taste the Island initiative with enthusiasm, putting on a remarkable 20 plus events.

The highlight of Taste the Island in Sligo was the Sligo Food Trail Harvest Feast with chefs and producers working hand-inhand to celebrate the best of food in sumptuous style through a nine-course tasting menu.

Sligo Food Trail Harvest Feast was attended by Paul Kelly CEO of Fáilte Ireland who was very compliment­ary about the event and Taste the Island Sligo.

“I want to congratula­te the Sligo Food Trail team on the wonderful work you have done with the project.

“The passion and work put into it is very clear to see and for me personally it is great to see the industry embrace the Taste the Island Programme,” he said.

The night showcased Sligo Food Trail’s talented chefs and top quality producers as well as the impressive food scene that continues to thrive in the county.

The network produced a short video from it encapsulat­ing the highlights.

Speaking about it, Marie Casserly, Chair Sligo Food Trail said: “We are delighted to launch this video which rounds up our 2019 Taste the Island calendar and thank all our members who took part, supported and collaborat­ed to ensure Sligo’s Taste the Island was a success. We would also like to thank Fáilte Ireland for their funding support.”.
