CORONA VIRUS CANCELLATION

The COVID-19 Coronovirus had played havoc worldwide and locally with events and fixtures.

As well as all schools closing, the Western Drama festival had to close mid-way through its staging. The first six nights of the event managed to be hosted but the last three plays were cancelled due to national ban on large indoor events.

The St Patrick Day Road Race had also to be cancelled which was due to take place March 17.

Locally, sporting events and normal club and social events have cancelled or postponed for the immediate future.

The advice is to take care and follow guidelines of the HSE and keep an eye on elderly neighbours. Keep safe.

PHOENIX PLAYERS

Due to the ongoing Covid-19 virus emergency the Phoenix Players have postponed their 75th Anniversary musical show Musical Memories Through the Decades but they hope to present it at a later, safer date.
