ROSSINVER CALLING
Elderly and isolated people in the North Leitrim, North Sligo, West Cavan and South Donegal areas have greatly appreciated the Rossinver Calling daily service for a number of years now, and particularly so in this exceptional time of the pandemic coronavirus crisis.
Rossinver Calling is operated from the Ballagh Centre. It is free call service. It will telephone an older person at a regular pre-arranged day and time; check that all is well and have a chat. Calls are made by trained and vetted members of staff and volunteers, and the content of the calls are strictly confidential.
One of the operators of Rossinver Calling service, Maureen Kron in a recent friendly Facebook message one morning said, ‘Good morning from sunny Rossinver. The silver lining in this time of social isolation is the beautiful weather, lambs in the fields, spring flowers blooming, and thoughtful neighbours and friends checking in on each other by phone.
‘If you or anyone you know would like a friendly call from us at Rossinver Calling please let us know. We’d be glad to help out.’ The phone number to make contact with the Ballagh Centre Rossinver Calling service is 071 9854928.
Meantime in a very positive response to Maureen Kron’s Saturday morning message, Róisín Cassidy replied it is ‘great that you still offer this fantastic link to isolated members in the cross border counties that you serve. Well done keep well.’.
