CASTLECONNOR

To pass the time we’ve begun putting up some old photos of teams, newspaper clippings and other items from the recent and distant past on our Social Media. We invite everyone to check them out on our Facebook page and on our Twitter account.

Let us know if you recognise anyone. We would also invite people to send in any old photographs or newspaper articles they might have. If you can scan them in or have it as a digital image please email it to pro.castleconnor.sligo@gaa.ie.

If you have a hard copy, if you contact us on the club phone 085 7761833 we will get them collected, scanned in and returned to you.

COMPILATION OF CLUB RECORDS – We’ve been working hard to try and collate all the awards that have been handed out down through the years for Player of the Year, Young Player of the year, Club Person of the Year and hall of Fame recipients.

To date we have fairly good records back to 2006 for all the above however, records prior to 2006 are incomplete. We would invite all our members, friends, former members and former players to let us know if you or someone belonging to you has received one of these awards. If the year is known that would be great to know too.

Once we get as much information as is possible we will be producing a piece that will hang in the community centre to remember and honour these achievements. Any information can be emailed to pro.castleconnor.sligo@gaa.ie or call or text the club phone 085 7761833.

CLUB LOTTO – Just a reminder that our club lotto remains paused while we wait for the government lock down to be lifted.

UNDER-6 PLAYERS – At the time of lockdown our under-6s had not started up yet so we do not have a complete list of those children who will be joining this year. Sligo GAA have been sending us out lots of simple fun videos for this age group to try out. Could any parents with a child of this age group please contact Eamonn Cawley at 087 6872867.

HELP IN THE COMMUNITY – For those in our community that are struggling to get to the shops, the chemist or with any other errand during the lockdown, we in Castleconnor GAA are here to help. Please call us on the following number 087 6854413 and we will organise assistance.
