EILEEN WINS BEST KEPT GARDEN COMPETITIO­N.

Congratula­tions to Eileen Boyle, and her husband Martin, on winning the 2020 Enniscrone Tidy Towns Best Kept Garden Competitio­n. There are a lot of fine gardens about the town to choose from – so well done to all you avid gardeners.

The runner-ups were Linda Mitchell, Seán Finnerty and Jacinta Casey – All the prize winners received Gift Vouchers for Halmac Hardware. Enniscrone Tidy Towns hopes to run a similar competitio­n next year so keep gardening.

ENNISCRONE BRANCH LIBRARY

We are reopening on a phased basis, commencing June 22, Wednesday and Friday 2 p.m. to 4.45 p.m. Contact and Collect only. Log onto sligolibra­ry.ie, search for available title’s (titles on shelf of Sligo County Libraries only). Contact the library by email at contactand­collect@sligococo. ie or call 071911653.

Please ensure to supply, pickup library for requested stock and Library Patron Id number. Three items per member can be requested. If your requested item is not available an alternativ­e title will be offered. Library staff will contact you when requested items are available for collection,

If you are cocooning or in a vulnerable category please make that known when requesting. Dedicated collection times will be given to these groups.

OCEAN SANDS HOTEL

We are delighted that our doors will now re-open on Monday, June 29, following the latest Government announceme­nt. We will reopen for our Restaurant Service from 12.30 p.m. Daily and our hotel rooms and apartments.

CHECKOUT ENNISCRONE

We’ve had over 70 local children get involved in the Fairy Competitio­n and they have blown us away. We need a few days to judge it and will announce winners at the weekend. If you haven’t been down to the Castlefiel­d yet it will really brighten up your day. We are so thankful to all the brilliant children and families for their excellent entries. Well done to you all.

ENNISCRONE BEACH

Lifeguards will commence duty for the summer season in Enniscrone (11: 30 p.m. to 7 p.m.) They will be on duty for weekends only for June and July and will be on full duty in August. Sligo County Council has also put out the bouy’s along the bay area.

All boats and jet-skis need to stay outside of these bouy’s when using the bay to protect other water users.
