Cul Camp

The GAA have confirmed that Cul Camps will go ahead this year and we have confirmed that we will host it in Castleconnor this year. The provisional date for the camp is July 20th to 24th. A couple of important things to note,

1- The camp will be capped at 100 children

2- You may only attend one camp, so if you intend going to Castleconnor do not attend a different camp in another club in advance of ours.

3- All registration must be done online, no walk in will be accepted on the day

The above rules will be strictly adhered to this year due to Covid-19 restrictions.

Online booking is not open yet but will open next Monday 22nd June. Yearly Lotto Tickets

U12 Skills Contest

Our U12s continue in their skills league. This week the lads had a very tricky drill kicking with both feet and catching with both arms in a 2 ball drill. Another challenge has been set this week and we wish the lads the best of luck with it.

Bin The Boredom

The draw winners from our Bin the boredom contest picked up their new jerseys from Gerry Kenny Sport during the week. Congratulations to both Bernie Ruane and Aine McGranaghan. In addition the club have been distributing some other spot prizes, club gear etc that were awarded during that contest Ireland’s Fittest Family Ireland’s Fittest Family is a competition reality show where families from all over the country compete against each other for the chance to win €15,000 and the title of ‘Ireland’s Fittest Family’ all the while being mentored by our panel of respected coaches, Davy Fitzgerald, Derval O’Rourke, Anna Geary and Donncha O’Callaghan.

Last year, the McSharrys from Sligo took the title of Ireland’s Fittest Family home to the county when they were victorious in the final at Croke Park.

Is there another Sligo family out there who can help keep the title in the county?

All GAA clubs have been asked to put this question to their members so if you think your family has what it takes visit: rte.ie/irelandsfittestfamily or call 085 837 5387 for more information.

The club is delighted to announce that we have been awarded leader funding of €195,000 for the development of our current dressing room complex.

Following a club meeting last week, the committee has given formal approval for work to commence. The project will give the building a major facelift, and greatly enhance our facilities. It is envisaged that the work will create a 220sq metre room on the second floor, which will be used by both club and community groups. The ground floor will be renovated to provide for new, larger dressing rooms and associated facilities.

We thank all of those who helped us secure this funding and in particular the club members who helped prepare our application. We will keep you updated with regard to this project in the coming weeks and months.
