Woman (20) shouted at ambulance crew

A woman who roared and shouted at ambulance crew has been given the benefit of the Probation Act.

Siofra Downey (20) of Seaview Park, Cliffoney was before Sligo District Court for engaging in offensive conduct on January 20 th, 2019.

The court heard at 12.30 am at Seaview Park gardaí attended a ‘considerab­le disturbanc­e’.

Downey was shouting and roaring and refusing to cooperate with ambulance staff on the night.

The court heard Downey had no previous conviction­s.

Solicitor Mark Mullaney told the court her client had been hanging around with the wrong crowd and was ashamed of her behaviour.

Since the incident Downey has been working at a horse riding stables and does not drink.

“The garda had great difficulty dealing with you,” Judge Kilrane said.

The 20 year old said she loved her job and needed garda vetting for it.

Judge Kilrane applied the Probation Act.
