Carraroe Text Alert has changed provider to Komeer. You will receive a number of texts advising you to download the Komeer App and sign up to Carraroe and District Regenerati­on Associatio­n group. Please download the Komeer App now. People, who do not want the app can continue to get the service by usual text message but it will cost €10 per year. The messages via the Komeer App is €5 per year. If anyone requires assistance with downloadin­g the app. please contact any committee member.

NO IFS BUTTS WIPES OR GLOVES

We are appealing to people not the dump disposable cups, wipes, gloves or cigarette butts on our roads as we have to pick them and dispose. These items leave nasty litter and our volunteer litter pickers have to pick them up.

SPRING CLEAN THANK YOU

We want to thank Gary Mullane of Mullane Plant for using the road sweeper to clean our roads again this year. This work assists make our community a nicer place to visit and live. We want to thank all residents that undertook a litter pick and clean-up in their area as part of our annual Spring Clean ans all those that assist in keeping our community safe.

CHURCH NEWS

Reopening of church – Fr Jim is working within COVID19 regulation­s to open the church again in July and he is looking for volunteers to assist with the necessary organising required to comply with the regulation­s. It is proposed to also use the community centre to ensure as many parishione­rs as possible can be accommodat­ed – for further informatio­n call Fr Jim at 071 9162136 or 087 8198466 or email carraroe@holywellsl­igo.com.

Church roof – The roof has been replaced and insulation has been included in the work which was required as leaking was occurring. Anyone that would like to assist with this work can send a donation to Fr Jim at the presbytery or leave into office.

The sick and housebound – The Mass is on Radio 107FM which has been upgraded with better reception. Just tune your radio before Mass. You can also see Mass streamed on churchtv. ie. Please let people know about this service in your area.

ST JOHN’S GAA CLUB LOTTO

The next draw is in the clubhouse Cuilbeg on Saturday, July 4. WEEKLY LITTER PICKERS

We are grateful to our regular pickers who work away quietly each week litter picking all roads around Carraroe. Anyone willing to become such a supporter is welcome. We will supply people with gloves, pickers, bags and if you pick your road you can leave the tied clear (supplied) bags at the special collection point at the community centre.

CARRAROE WALKING GROUP

Thanks to the support of Sligo Sports Partnershi­p Arita Loughlin is continuing to provide a programme of exercise via Zoom each Wednesday at 11 a.m. We will soon be consulting members concerning the beginning of our weekly external walks to establish level of interest.

DOG LOVERS AND WALKERS

We are appealing to dog walkers to bring their waste home and not lift and dump into hedges along the road as it causes nasty litter which has to be removed by volunteers.

If you know anyone interested in having the system it can be arranged by Cadra Anyone that already has the alarm is advised to wear the pendent at all times including in bed and shower (its waterproof).
