EASING OF LOCKDOWN

There is relief and optimism in the area with the easing of a lot of the restrictions from yesterday June 29: hairdressers, pubs and churches and sport with certain clauses – hopefully if all goes well we can get back to some kind of normality. Well done to everyone for observing all the guidelines and for all their patience in a very tough time.

PIETA HOUSE FUNDRAISER

Gurteen Bingo committee organised a fundraiser in aid of Pieta House. They wanted people to Do a ‘K’ on the longest day. on last Sat/Sun. All contributions go to Pieta House. Donations can be given to any committee member or online at gofundme.com. This is a very worthy cause and all contributions will be greatly appreciated.

CHURCH SERVICES

The opening of churches is brought forward to June 29 – but the latest criteria says only 50 people are permitted in a building so this makes it even more difficult. Gurteen will have to set up a support team to draft a plan for the re-opening of the church and to ensure that all the legal requirements are carried out – it would be very helpful if people could come to a daily Mass and leave the Sunday Mass for people who have day jobs. Gurteen volunteers should contact Fr Joe PP Gurteen.or Mary C. O’Hara. Gurteen will have its first Sunday Mass on Sunday, July 5.
