Our U12s top scored in their group this week in the 3rd round of the skills’ test. This week was another difficult drill, player having to bounce and solo of each side at speed. Well done to all the kids who took part. The last challenge is this week. Return to Playing

The club is preparing to get football running again in line with GAA rules. For all parents of children and adult players/ coaches two items must be carried out...

1- A Covid 19 e-learning module needs to be completed by every parent, before your child can return. It must also be completed by every playing adult. It gives information on how we can safely go back to training. It will take 15 - 20 minutes to complete. On completion you will receive a certificate. If you could take a photo of the certificate, you will be required to forward to the team Covid Officer (once confirmed we will let you know the Covid officers for each team). Any questions you have in relation to Covid and training should be found in this module e.g. drop off and pick up requirements etc. Link to online Course is here https://courses.gaa. ie/Covid19ClubEd/

2 - A Health Questionnaire needs to be completed before the first training session or before anyone can take part in training. This can be done on-line. It only needs to be done on the first evening. After that all that is required is a signature to say that your child is OK to train. Link to

Questionnaire is here https://learning.gaa. ie/sites/default/files/Gaelic%20Games_ Health%20Questionnaire_User%20 Guide_22.06.2020.pdfPlease print out, fill in and hand in at your first training session. Please note: It is important that you complete both these before you and/ or your child attends a training session. Grounds Maintenance

In the past week the club has made a significant investment in our pitch, our no one physical asset.

1- We contracted Corbett landscaping to professionally sand and Shockwave the pitch. This was completed last Thursday. 2- A group of club volunteers have been working away in the past weeks to get the grounds ready for use. Many thanks to the pitch committee and ordinary members who have been painting the goal posts, Painting the dugout benches, strimming, moving advertisement hoardings onto the new fencing and many other tasks. As a result we think all will agree the grounds are in terrific shape.

DRUMCLIFFE/ROSSES POINT

LAST Friday, the club along with St John’s GAA present a cheque for €32,000 to Bridget Kerrigan of Sligo Cancer Support Centre. The proceeds were from #GoTheExtraMile. The community involvement and participation was simply phenomenal. Thank you to everybody who walking, jogged or donated. When we stepped foot inside the Support Centre on Wine Street last Friday, we realised how much this money is valued and appreciated by the local charity, especially considering that they rely on fundraisers like these to cover 80% of their yearly expenses. There are three photo galleries of all the DRP pictures from the day itself is available on the club’s Facebook page.

Big congrats to our own Michelle McNamara, who was named as DCU’s Moynihan Cup Footballer of the Year for 2020. A fitting and well deserved accolade.

Full contact training can resume this week for club teams. Our senior men’s and women’s, minor boys and girls, and under 16 boys and girls teams are resuming training this week. The remaining teams will resume in the coming weeks.

TOURLESTRANE

IT’S been a long wait but we are all here and what a great week it is as we finally kick start the return to training! The pitch is in mint condition (whatever about the players) thanks to Dermot Walsh and his merry pitch Committee who made the return all the sweeter when it’s to the perfect venue . I’m sure no more than all the managers, coaches, team players etc it’s an almighty feeling to know that the whole club across the globe no longer need to listen to Kennedys online Friday night quizzes, meetings via zoom calls and in general missing out on the fun of being together. That said I can’t but mention a heartfelt word of thanks to those who tirelessly gave their time to ensure all our vulnerable older club members were taken care of, to all our frontline workers in the club from nurses to care workers and all hospital staff. To our local shops and post office workers and postmen, to our coaches via Sligo GAA and a special thank you to our own Stephen Henry who also launched the HealthyKidz App keeping the younger members active. To Aisling Egan, Katie Walsh, Molly Kennedy,Therese Walsh and Cathy Egan for their huge help to me with our extra club activities for both young and older and thank you most of all to all who participated and their parents ...we will have all the excellent work on display when we are all fully returned.

We extend sympathy to all who have lost loved ones in the past few months. Ar dheis Dé go raibh siad.

Here’s to another great healthy year for Tourlestrane. Stay safe and see you on the sideline in the near future.

The event was organised by Brian McGowan and Paul McNamara of St Johns GAA and Sean Power and Niall Canning of Drumcliffe/Rosses Point GAA.
