Football and hurling draws
THE Sligo GAA club football and hurling draws were made on Wednesday and see some interesting challenges in store as sport resumes after the Covid-19 lockdown.
The weekend of July 18th/19th sees the football action resume with the warm-up competitions including the Kiernan, Benson and Abbott Cups while the Dermot Molloy Hurling league reverts to a knock-out format.
The highly anticipated Senior and Intermediate football championships begin on July 25th/26th, with two groups of five teams in each grade.
The draw, which was broadcast live on Ocean FM, revealed what the routes are for clubs this year.
In the Senior Football Championship, Group 1 consists of; Eastern Harps Drumcliffe/Rosses Point

Tubbercurry

Group 2 is;

Calry/St Joseph’s Coolera/Strandhill Tourlestrane Coolaney/Mullinabreena
The top two teams in each progress to the semi-finals, with the bottom 2 teams in each going into the relegation play-offs.

The Junior A Football Championship has 2 groups of four teams with the Junior B competition comprising 4 groups of three teams. Both are expected to begin on August 1st/3rd.

The Dermot Molloy Hurling League will began on the weekend of July 18th.19th.
