THE Sligo GAA club football and hurling draws were made on Wednesday and see some interestin­g challenges in store as sport resumes after the Covid-19 lockdown.

The weekend of July 18th/19th sees the football action resume with the warm-up competitio­ns including the Kiernan, Benson and Abbott Cups while the Dermot Molloy Hurling league reverts to a knock-out format.

The highly anticipate­d Senior and Intermedia­te football championsh­ips begin on July 25th/26th, with two groups of five teams in each grade.

The draw, which was broadcast live on Ocean FM, revealed what the routes are for clubs this year.

In the Senior Football Championsh­ip, Group 1 consists of; Eastern Harps Drumcliffe/Rosses Point

Group 2 is;

Calry/St Joseph’s Coolera/Strandhill Tourlestra­ne Coolaney/Mullinabre­ena

The top two teams in each progress to the semi-finals, with the bottom 2 teams in each going into the relegation play-offs.
