SKREENDROMARD RESUMPTION OF PUBLIC MASSES.

Sunday and Weekday Masses are set to resume in the Skreen-Dromard Parish Churches from the weekend of July 25 and 26. On Saturday evening Mass on July 25 will take place in Dromard Church at 7 p.m. Sunday Mass will take place in Skreen Church on July 26 at 11.30 a.m.

Parish priest Fr Michael Gilroy and the Parish Pastoral Council have drawn up guidelines and regulations which will be implemented in both churches from the re-opening dates.

Everyone is asked to abide by these rules in their own interest and in the interest of everyone else too. Numbers will be limited in both churches as follows – Skreen 60 people and Dromard 34. Masses will be broadcasted over an outside Speaker System and people may sit in their cars and listen to Mass.

Hand sanitisers have been fitted in the porches of both churches and you are asked to use same on entry and leaving the church.

You are asked to wait at the doors of each church till a Parish Steward will lead you to your seat.

There will be no choice of seat but family members from the one household may sit together. Each place is marked with an X and that is where you are asked to sit in order to maintain social distancing.

Once seated you will not have to move as Communion will be brought to each person by the priest and Eucharistic Ministers. Both the priest and the Eucharistic Minsters will sanitise their hands before and after Communion distribution and will also wear a mask.

A Eucharistic Minister will distribute Communion at the front door of each church for those attending Mass but seated in their cars.

At the end of Mass everyone will be guided to the exit doors seat by seat to maintain social distancing.

Once outside the church everyone is asked to return immediately to their cars with no gatherings outside the church or at cars. Everyone is asked to bring their own face mask and wear it in the church.

All of these guidelines have been drawn up for the safety and well being of all the people and your co-operation with this and the Parish Stewards is requested. Mass will be celebrated in both churches on one day of each week to facilitate senior citizens, who may prefer to attend a weekday Mass instead of a weekend Mass.

The understanding and co-operation of everyone with all of the above will be much appreciated by Fr Michael Gilroy and will bring another piece of normality back into our lives.
