A 37-year-old man before Judge Kevin Kilrane at Sligo District Court on Public Order charges was told he faces prison if convicted of further charges.

Dean Mahon of Kiernan Avenue, Collooney, was also charged with stealing a bottle of wine from Simpsons Supermarke­t, Drumacrin, Bundoran, Co Donegal on

January 31st last. He was further charged with intoxicati­on at Sligo University Hospital on February 5 th and threatenin­g, abusive or insulting behaviour at the hospital on the same date.

Mr Aubrey Melville of Social Groundforc­e told the judge Mahon has been attending meetings everyday and in all the times he has been dealing with him, it is the best he has been. Sergeant Derek Butler said there was no reoffendin­g. Judge Kilrane told Mahon if he doesn’t reoffend, he won’t be going to prison. “If you do, you will go to prison for a lengthy period,” he added. Mr Tom MacSharry (solicitor) appeared.
