3 A QUARTET OF POETS

The Yeats Building Sligo is hosting ‘A Quartet of Poets, The Internatio­nal Readings’, on Wednesday, April 10th at 7pm. American poets Sandy Yannone and Kim Ports Parsons will join Sligo poets Sinead McClure and Maeve McKenna on the night. Each poet will read from their published works. This is a free event and everyone is very welcome.

4 CON BRIO GALA NIGHT

Con Brio are immensely proud to present a gala night of song with the gorgeous diva Claudia Boyle accompanie­d by pianist Finghin Collins at Hawk’s Well Theatre on Friday, April 12. Claudia has been described as “Visually and Sonically striking” and indeed it is hard to forget her presence and her voice. Finghin is now the best-known pianist in the island of Ireland as well as Artistic Director of Music for Galway and the New Ross Piano Festival and Artistic Director of the Dublin Internatio­nal Piano Competitio­n.

The Grange Players are back on April 12 and 13 with the hilarious comedy ‘Always A Convent Girl’ based on the Play ‘Once A Catholic’ by Mary O’ Malley. The cast and crew have been hard at work for some time preparing for this show.

Cork man Chris Kent returns with his brand new show “Back At It”. After a dose of the real world (having gone back to the day job as an electricia­n), Chris found himself with two jobs and the ridiculous notion of trying to buy a house. It turns out he did not have enough jobs. See this hilarious show at Hawk’s Well on Saturday April 13.

The Dartry Ceilí Band will perform a live concert in the Coleman Music Centre, Gurteen on Saturday, April 13. Early booking is advisable for this event. It promises to be a great night’s entertainm­ent.
