BOTH senior and junior spring league matches scheduled last week didn’t take place – junior game was conceded by Tubbercurr­y and senior game was postponed due to inclement weather; date for re-fixture to be confirmed.

U13 team played challenge match against Castleconn­or.

U15 and U13 League fixtures commence this week with the U15 team taking on Tourlestra­ne on Tuesday 9th April at 6.30pmand U13 team also taking on Tourlestra­ne on Friday 12th April with both games at home. U18 Easkey/St Farnan’s play Curry (in Curry) on Thursday 11th April at 6.30pm.

MATCHES in Senior & Junior Spring leagues scheduled for weekend with the junior team taking on Easkey away on Friday at 7.00pm and the intermedia­te team taking on Easkey at home on Saturday at 6.30pm. REGISTRATI­ON is now open for all players & coaches on Foireann. All players and coaches must register to be eligible to play or coach and to have insurance cover in place.

COUNTY REPRESENTA­TION BEST of luck to hurlers Fionn Connolly, Finnian Cawley, Tomas Cawley, Gavin Connolly, James Weir & Donall Hanley in first round of the Christy Ring Cup against Kildare on Saturday in Markievicz Park at 1.00pm.

WELL done to Paddy O’Connor & the Sligo footballer­s in their Connacht quarter final victory over Leitrim on Sunday; next up is semi-final against Galway on Saturday 20th April at 3.30pm, venue to be confirmed.

LAST MAN STANDING CONGRATULA­TIONS to Sonya Hannon & Dermot Browne who were winners in our Last Man (or Woman!) Standing competitio­n. They win €100 each. TRIP TO CROKE PARK

OUR U11 team played several matches in Croke Park on Wednesday as part of the Go Games initiative. A great day out was had and the players acquitted themselves well on the hallowed turf of Croke Park. BINGO

BINGO continues weekly in Dromore West Community Centre on Fridays at 8.30pm. Jackpot this week is €1000. More volunteers are needed to keep this fundraisin­g initiative going during the summer months, please contact any member of the committee for details.

ST MOLAISE GAELS

THE Sligo GAA Minor Team commence their 2024 campaign on Friday next, April 12th with an away fixture with Galway. The club is well represente­d on the panel with three players on the panel. Congratula­tions to Dante Currid, Conor Langan and Cian Nicholson on making the cut. THE club had five representa­tives on a Sligo U16 team that took part in a Compromise Rules match against St Patrick’s College Melbourne on Tuesday evening in Bekan. Well done to Cathal Ward, Pierce Lenehan, Dylan Fox, Liam Casserly and Johnny Coyle.

WELL done to our U11 Boys who did the club proud on Thursday in Croke Park. The boys had to have their alarm clocks set early as they took off from Grange on the bus before 6am! They played in football Go-Games against clubs from other counties on a very enjoyable day at GAA HQ.

SPECIAL thanks to all of their coaches and parents for organising and travelling with the boys, Sligo GAA Coaching & Games and to all the organisers for helping to make memories that will last a lifetime. CONGRATULA­TIONS to Adam Roberts, Sean McSweeney, Ruairí Cronin and Conor Lenihan who, along with club coaches John O’Callaghan, Stephen Crowe and Kevan Brennan were part of the Sligo set up who played Donegal in the first round of the Celtic Challenge on Sunday. CONGRATULA­TIONS also to the Sligo Senior Football team and our club players, Alan McLoughlin, and Luke Casserly, on their win against Leitrim in the Connacht GAA Championsh­ip Quarter Final in Carrick on Shannon on Sunday. Also representi­ng the club on the day was under 13 footballer Adam Fallon who lined out for Sligo for a half-time exhibition game. Well done Adam.

ST MICHAEL’S

THE St Michael’s academy for the under 7 boys and girls will commence this Saturday April 13th, due to weather conditions they were unable to start last Saturday. All children between age 4 – 7 are welcome to join. Training will be held in PJ Linnane Park at 9.30am. Training will continue for the U9 and U11 boys and girls in Ballygawle­y Astro on Wednesday evenings. THERE a number of club games this coming week.

ON Tuesday the U15 Boys are at home to Ballymote/ Bunninadde­n at 6.30pm. ON Thursday evening the minor ladies are away to St John’s at 7.00pm, while also on Thursday the minor lads travel to Enniscrone/ Kilglass at 6.30pm. ON Friday the U13 Boys are at home to Calry/ St Joseph’s at 6.30pm.

THE U12 Girls also play on Friday evening with an away fixture against Ballymote at 7.00pm.

THE Men’s Junior team are playing Saturday evening, with a home fixture against Ballymote at 6.30pm.

THE Ladies are away to Eoghan Rua on Saturday evening at 6.30pm.

WITH training and matches now starting for all age groups it is essential that all players have their registrati­on completed. Registrati­on can be completed on www. foireann.ie. Please complete this as soon as possible.

THIS year our Cúl camp will run from Monday 15th to Friday the 19th of July, for all children aged 6-13. Booking can be completed by following the link on our social media pages. ST NATHY’S

LOTS happening on the field for our teams as the 2024 season gets well under way. THIS week both our u12 teams will play in against St John’s in St John’s on Friday evening.

WELL done to our minor team who put on a great display of football on Thursday evening against CT Gaels in the minor league, winning by 1 point. Next up they will face St Mary’s, away. Details for this game are tbc so keep an eye on our facebook page for updates.

DUE to disruption­s caused by storm Kathleen our Division 4 Junior game against Eastern Harps did not go ahead, this game will be reschedule­d at a later date. Our Juniors will meet Drumcliffe / Rosses Point in Drumcliffe on Saturday 13th at 6:30pm.

WELL done to our Seniors who won their opening game of the season against Drumcliffe / Rosses Point in the Division 1 league on a scoreline of 8-11 to 5 points. NEXT they will play against Eastern Harps on Sunday at 3pm in Keash.

THE very best of luck to all involved with the u16 county girls team as they take on Roscommon in the Connacht B final in The Connacht GAA Centre of Excellence at 11am. A very special mention to the St Nathy’s girls involved Sarah O’Kane Kelly, Caoimhe Fearon and Emma Kerins.

SHAMROCK GAELS

THE Senior Ladies recorded their second win in the league over Coolera/Strandhill in difficult conditions at Ransboro. In a tight game, the Gaels pulled away at the end with two late goals. The final score was 3-7 to 1-4. The team was: Mairead Tuohy, Amy Healy, Ellie McDermott, Hannah Willis, Naomh Quinn, Aoife Morrisroe (0-1), Ciara Gilligan (0-1), Ruby Clark, Isobel Clark, Erin Mullaney, Lara Swann (0-3), Jade Lyons (1-1),Roisín Kearns, Penny Barlow (1-1), Chloe McTiernan (1-0). Subs: Katie Gilligan, Ellis O’Connor, Leah Mullaney. They now play Owenmore Gaels next Sunday in Riverstown Park. THE Junior team had a good 3-17 to 0-7 win over Ballymote in the first round of the Spring League. The team was: Sean Kelly, Paul Brennan, Jack Tuohy, Gavin McMorrow, Declan Willis, Sam Tuohy (1-1), Conor Kearns (0-2), Patrick Kenny (0-1), Daire Kearns (0-3). Daniel King, Aaron Coleman (1-1), James Foley (0-4), Frank Quinn (14). Subs: Steven Willis (0-1), Ben Tuohy, Jack Duignan, Johnny Quinn. Well done to Sean Kelly, Jack Tuohy, Sam Tuohy and Aaron Coleman who made their Senior debuts in this game. They now take on Owenmore Gaels next Friday at 7.00PM in Riverstown Park.

THE underage coaching started last Saturday in Riverstown Park and continues every Saturday.The U6 and U7 Boys and Girls start at 9.45AM to 10.30AM, U9 Boys start at 10.00AM to 11.00AM while the U8 and U10 Girls are on from 10.30AM to 11.30AM - all welcome.

THE winner of last week’s 50/50 draw was Damien Davey who won €1,000 in a special Bank Holiday draw. TEAM News: This week is a busy week for all our teams with most of them returning to action for the first time this season. The Club wishes all the players and their management teams the best of luck for the coming year.

DUE to Storm Kathleen, the game scheduled for our Intermedia­te Team against Easkey in round one of the JBG Security Ltd West Division Spring League on Saturday last, was postponed and a new fixture date will be arranged. This Saturday, 13th April, they play Cloonacool at Quigabar with a 6.30pm throw-in.

OUR U18 Team play Geevagh/St Michael’s in round two of the Shane Quigley Financial Advisor New Ireland U18 B1 Football League on Thursday evening, 11th April at Quigabar. Throw-in at 6.30pm. OUR U15 Team are in action on Tuesday evening, 9th April, in the first round of the league with an away fixture against Owenmore Gaels. Throw-in at Connolly Park is at 6.30pm.

OUR U13 Team return to action this week when they welcome Coolaney/ Mullinabre­ena to Quigabar on Wednesday evening, 10th April, for round one of the U13B league.
