DANCING AT CAMROSS

The September dance will be held in Camross ballroom on Friday 5th with dancing from 10pm til late. Glenn Flynn and his band will provide some wonderful music for you all to enjoy. Admission is €8 inc refreshmen­ts.

CAMROSS ICA

Camross ICA will hold the first meeting after the summer recess on Monday 1st September at 8pm in Camross Hall and competitio­n is for nicest handmade scarf.

SOCCER NEWS

Taghmon United's Soccer season officially starts this weekend with our new Youths team a recent introducti­on by the Club will play at home to Bree on Saturday while both Men's teams are in action on Sunday also in Horetown when the 1st team play North End 2nd team and the 2nd team play Caim Utd. We wish all the teams the best of luck in the season ahead.

Elsewhere congratula­tions to Flor Hayden who won in last weeks Coupon Draw. Coupon tickets are now up and running on a weekly basis with results advertised on the Clubs webpage every Monday night.

The Club’s Ray Kennedy - Trevor McLoughlin Memorial Tournament took place on Sunday with a full report to follow.

Congratula­tions to Club man Quentin Kehoe and the Taghmon Handballer­s who achieved Gold in the recent All Ireland Community Games Finals in Athlone.

ATHLETICS

Well done to Aisling Kelly, Chloe O’Toole (Taghmon) and James Hanlon (Ring of Hook) who represente­d Wexford in the cross country in the community Games in Athlone at the weekend, we hope that ye enjoyed the experience. As all our athletes has stretched and grown over the summer any unwanted clothes and shoes please keep to one side when you are sorting out the wardrobes.

We are organising a cloths collection date to be arranged (in September) so please spread the word to your friends and relations, to help raise much needed funds for the club. Cross country training is back in action Sundays at 12 noon and Wednesday evenings at 6.15pm in the center. Regular training will return in later in September. The Committee of Taghmon Athletic Cub are planning to publish a magazine/journal in 2015 to mark the 30thannive­rsary of the foundation of the club. Consequent­ly we are looking for contributi­ons of articles and photograph­s and are hoping that former athletes and committee members will assist us in providing this informatio­n in order to make the journal an interestin­g and enjoyable read for present and past members alike.

BADMINTON CLUB

The Badminton Club will reopen on Monday 8th September. New members are welcome. Registrati­on will take place prior to play. The Club's fundraiser will be held on Sunday 21st September setting off from the Community Centre. Details for the Run, Walk, Cycle are as follows;RUN/WALK: 10km approx. Registrati­on at 10 a.m..Commencing at 10.30 a.m. CYCLE: 15km approx. Registrati­on at 11 a.m...commencing at 11.30 a.m.

COISTE NA NOG

We are holding our first U10 Blitz in Taghmon on Saturday from 10.30am (weather permitting). We have 7 teams participat­ing along with our own team. We are also having a BBQ in conjunctio­n with the blitz. So please come along have some lunch and give support to these young players.

Coiste na nOg have tickets on sale now for their fundraiser this year. Tickets are €5 each or 3 for €10. There are great prizes on offer eg. 1st prize-2 All-Ireland Football Tickets, an overnight stay & evening meal in a top hotel in Dublin.

Our Minor Hurling team had a great win against Oulart 1-17 to 1-14 on Thursday night to qualify for the Co. Semi-Finals against Oylgate/Glenbrien.

U12's played against Our Lady's Island on Tuesday night in football and they will play them in hurling this Tuesday evening.

U10's played in Rathangan on Wednesday night in the Kent Stainless football Tournament with games against St. Mary's Rosslare and St. Anne's.

U8's played Crossabeg on Tuesday night in hurling and they have a football match Monday night against St. James.

The County GAA Handball One Wall finals took place on Thursday night. Well done to Mark Doyle & Conor Murphy who reached the U11 final, with Mark coming out on top. In the U9final Bobby Doyle took the title. Jack Murphy also competed at U9 and reaching the quarter finals.

A great week of Cul Camps took place last week with over 90 children from 6-12 taking part. A week of skills, games and fun was had by all.

Thanks to all those who attended and to the trainers & coaches who made it so enjoyable.
