VERY BEST IN WEXFORD BUSINESS
WEXFORD is punching above its weight in so far as successful businesses are concerned, President of Wexford Chamber Karl Fitzpatrick said following Friday night’s annual business awards and banquet.
Local firm Scurri was selected as the overall winner of the 2016 Wexford Business Awards, taking the Business of the Year Award, as well as winning both the Innovation and the eCommerce/ Social Media Categories, and taking the runner- up honours in the Logistics Category.
Scurri’s founder and CEO Rory O’Connor said, ‘ I am absolutely delighted and honoured that Scurri has been recognised in this way’.
‘ We had a fantastic evening and Wexford Chamber is to be congratulated on an amazing event. Madeleine Quirke and her team run a first class Chamber’.
Speaking after the event, Karl Fitzpatrick said, ‘ the standard this year was exemplary across all categories. There was great momentum and anticipation throughout the night and with 17 categories there were many people who had good reason to celebrate.
‘ Tonight was testament to the fact that Wexford is certainly punching above its weight insofar as successful businesses are concerned. Congratulations to all winners, runners- up and finalists. You did Wexford proud once again.’
Pat Kenny was an entertaining guest MC at the awards which attracted a packed house at the main function room in Clayton White’s Hotel for the glittering black- tie event.
Hundreds enjoyed fine food and music courtesy of the Kaye Twins as Wexford honoured the very best in local business and enterprise.
The attendance included Minister Paul Kehoe, and former Minister, Brendan Howlin, the new Leader of the Labour Party.
