A LARGE crowd came along to Visit Wexford information day at the Riverside Park Hotel to discover what lies ahead for the tourism industry in Wexford.

Representatives from various attractions, hotels and locations across Wexford gathered together to hear the details of the tourism plans in the pipeline for Wexford. Chair of Visit Wexford Colm Neville gave guests an outline of what is to come.

This includes a national television campaign which will be rolled out by Visit Wexford this summer, promoting Wexford as the number one place to visit. Two new publications focusing on 2016 festivals and Ireland’s Ancient East were unveiled and are now available across the Southeast region.

Colm also spoke about various national radio competitions and billboard campaigns that will be rolled out over the next few months

‘We want to highlight all that is good and all that there is to do in Wexford and we are inviting all of you involved in tourism or interested in growing tourism in Wexford to come on board and join us in this mission,’ he said.

Orla Woods of Failte Ireland also spoke about the Wexford promotion under Ireland’s Ancient East.

‘We are investing in the storytelling of the region and in Wexford in particular at 12 pillar sites for example we have already invested in storytelling development at Hook Lighthouse, The Norman Way and the Ros Tapestry,’ she explained.
