Recording development bursaries on offer to bands and singers
EMERGING musical talent in Co Wexford is being urged to apply for a recording development bursary. In partnership with Wexford County Council, Enniscorthy-based Orchard Recording is offering two recording development bursaries to bands, artists, and singer-songwriters living in Wexford.
Now in its fourth year, the award is part of the Council’s Room to Record music technology programme.
‘ The Recording Development Bursary has been devised to address the need for a greater understanding of professional recording practices, and ways of working for emerging bands, artists, and singer-songwriters,’ said Paul Dowling of Orchard Recording. ‘If you are preparing to record an album, embarking on your first recording experience or looking to increase your skill set within a recording studio environment you should apply.’
Among past successful bursary recipients are Corner Boy from Killinick whose lead singer Michael D’Arcy said the overall process helped them garner a greater understanding of the production, recording, editing and writing process.
The Recording Development Bursaries will run in the Orchard Recording studio, Enniscorthy. Applications must be submitted by 12 noon on Thursday, June 30.
