GALBALLY TRACTOR RUN
The recent Galbally Tractor Run in aid of Galbally Parish Funds was a great success. A sincere thanks to all those who supported the recent either by taking part, or by helping with stewarding and catering.
BREE UNITED BBQ
The club will be hosting a Golden Goal competition along with a barbecue in Byrnes of Bree on the next two dates that Ireland are playing (June 18 and 22). Tickets cost €5 which will include a free burger when ticket is presented. If your ticket has the minute the first goal is scored in the game you win €100.
COMMUNITY GAMES
Congratulations to Bree Davidstown under-14 Draughts Team of Michael Humphries, Ben Harrington, Cormac Kehoe, Odin Doyle and Odhran Kehoe who defeated Carlow in the Leinster Quarter Finals. This team will compete in the Leinster semi-finals in July.
Congratulations also to the 30 athletes from the Bree Davidstown area which qualified for the National Athletics Finals in Athlone in August. A total of 30 medals (five gold, six silver and five bronze) were won by these athletes.
Individual gold medal winners were under-eight 80m Jayden Kenny: under-10 100m Abbie Doyle, 60mH Gracie Kehoe: under-14 80mH Sophie Codd: under-16 1500m Mairead Crean, Joint Marathon John Kehoe and Peter Rodgers. Relay gold medal winners were under-10 Mixed Abbie Doyle, Gracie Kehoe, Tadhg Doyle, Oscar Redmond, Dylan Carr and Katie Nolan; under-12 Girls Emer Kervick, Leah Nolan, Yvonne Hennebry, Ciara Byrne, Aleisha Furlong and Katie Murphy: under-13 Mixed Lucy Kehoe, Donna Delahunty, Darragh Kehoe, Sean Fitzpatrick, Anna Jevens and Ryan Whelan; under-15 Mixed Sophie Codd, Katie Whelan, Shane Kehoe, Daire Rochford, Conal Kervick and Claudia O’Neill: under-16 Boys Peter Rodgers, John Kehoe, Oran Ffrench and Cian Wickham. Silver medal winners were under-10 60mH Ella Doyle, 100m Oscar Redmond; under-12 100m Leah Nolan under-14 80mH Katie Whelan, 800m Tobias Redmond and under-16 200m Cian Wickham. Bronze medal winners were under-eight 60m Oisin Harte; under-10 60mH Tadhg Doyle: under-14 100m Lucy Kehoe; under-16 100m Daire Rochford and 800m Conal Kervick. Other athletes to reach their respective finals were under-eight Evelyn Dunne, Ava Kehoe, Filip Rydzewski, PJ Breen under-10 Caoimhe Carty, Maura Doyle, Dylan Carr and under-12 Emer Kervick.

BREE AC
The Leinster Team Event was held in Tullamore on June Bank Holiday Monday and Bree Athletic Club was represented by five teams in this event. In this competition, two athletes of each team compete in four events plus a relay. Gold medal winners were the under-nine team of Maura Doyle, Ciara Laffan, Lea Bolger and Sophie Chapman: under-11 team of Abbie Doyle, Gracie Kehoe, Katie Doyle and Joanne Chapman and the under-12 team of Robbie Chapman, Sean Rowley, Ryan Whelan and Shane Doran. Silver medal winners were the under-15 team of Sophie Codd, Katie Whelan, Donna Delahunty and Agata Farioli Vecchioli. The under-nine Boys team were unlucky to finish in fourth place as they were in a medal position before the relays. Members were Jayden Kenny, Conn Fraser, Charlie Kehoe and Piers Hogan.
Last weekend Bree AC athletes returned to Tullamore for the U9-13 Leinster Championships for what was again a very successful outing for the club. Medal winners were under-nine Ciara Laffan and Maura Doyle first 300m; under-10 Katie Doyle and Johanna Chapman second LJ, third 500m; under-11 Abbie Doyle and Gracie Kehoe first 60m; under-12 Sean Rowley first 60mH (CBP), third 60m: Shane Doran second HJ, third 60mH; Master: Neasa Gately (M1) third Javelin; Olwin Gately (M2) third Javelin: Myriam Gately (M3) third Javelin and Thomas Loonam (M1) third Discus, SP. Congratulations to all involved. This weekend the under-14-19 athletes will be in action in Tullamore.
MR OIL CO ‘B’ CHAMPIONSHIPS: The County ‘B’ Championships took place in Enniscorthy Hub on Friday, June 3, where all seventeen Bree AC athletes won medals in relays as well as a number of individual placings. Under-nine Sophie Chapman third 60m, Jayden Kenny first LJ, second 60m, Conn Fraser first 300m: under-10 John Asple James third 300m: under-11 Cillian Dempsey first 60m, LJ, Dylan Carr third LJ: under-12 Yvonne Hennebry first 60m, Jay Hogan first 60m, LJ: under-13 Leah Nolan third 60m. In the Mixed Relays Bree won the U9, second in the under-13 and third in the under-11. Other relay medal winners were under-nine Piers Hogan, Jack Browne, Erin Ryan and Lara Donegan under-10 Clodagh Dempsey under-11 Aoibhe Donegan, Emily Dunne and Daniel Chapman. Well done to all involved.
