69TH ANNUAL ADAMSTOWN SHOW THIS SATURDAY

All roads lead to Adamstown on Saturday, July 2, for the 69th annual Adamstown Show.

The agricultur­al, horticultu­ral, arts crafts, trade and vintage show will officially kick off at 10a.m., when judging will commence on the numerous classes.

The show which takes place on lands belonging to the Cullen, Whelan and Redmond families will feature all the usual horse, pony and sheep classes as well as show jumping and an interhunte­r chase.

There are also numerous horticultu­re, home cooking, home industries, arts and crafts classes and a plethora of competitio­ns of all interests for children to enter. There are perpetual cups and trophies to be won for the best exhibitors in all classes.

A very attractive class this year is the All Ireland Tattersall­s, Red Mills & Weatherbuy­s Thorough bred Brood Mare Championsh­ip with another €1,500 in prize money from first to tenth.

Another attraction is the Cash Jumping Classes, hosted by Wexford Hunt Club. This year a new event has been introduced in the showjumpin­g section, the Coolmore Puissance The Jumping in the Village. This has a prize fund of €2,000.

There will also be a vintage display, a dog show, sheep classes and over 50 trade stands on the day.

The show hosts numerous other attraction­s such as children’s amusements, an animal pets corner, traditiona­l butter making and lots more.
