Sunday, July 10, is the next date for social dancing in Oylegate Community Centre. Music on the night is by Thomas Maguire and Ffiona Maguire. This popular duo played their first date in Oylegate 12 months ago to a full house so their return is eagerly awaited. Dancing from 9.30 p.m. Admission is €8, with the usual tasty refreshmen­ts served. Come along and enjoy a lovely evening of music song and dance. All are welcome

EMMA HEFFERNAN 10K

The Remember Emma Heffernan 10 K will take place on Saturday, July 2, at 4 p.m. starting at the GAA, pitch in Oylegate and registrati­on is from 2 p.m. Registrati­on fee costs €15 and is available to register on go Runireland.com, as well as on the day. All proceeds will go to the Jack and Jill Foundation, in memory of baby Emma. €4,500 for Wexford Hospice Homecare: The final total raised by our coffee morning for Wexford Hospice Homecare was €4,500. Again many thanks to all for such generous support. It was a wonderful community event.

SPLIT-THE-POT

Scoil Mochua parents’ associatio­n will hold a weekly split-thepot with the first draw to be held on Monday, June 27. It will cost only €2 to enter and the weekly winner will get half of the takings and the school will get the other half of the pot. Entry envelopes are available from local businesses and the school.

COISTE NA NÓG

Next Friday, July 1, at 6.30 p.m., weather permitting there will be an Open Night of fun and games in Oulart for under age members in the club. Under-14, under-12, under-10, under-eight and under-six children are all invited to come along and join in the fun. County Developmen­t Coach Peter Hally will also be there. The under-12 and under-14 Hurling teams have been busy for the last few weeks with matches. The under-12 have won their last two championsh­ip matches against Blackwater and the Rapparees. The under-14 played in the Provincial Féile in Kilkenny on Saturday, June 18, and they did themselves and their club proud, playing three fantastic matches. They beat O’Loughlin Gaels and Thomastown. In their third match they played very well and were very unlucky to be beaten by Mount Leinster Rangers by one point. A big thank you to Paul Hayes and his mentors for all the work with the boys.

The under-16 and Minor matches get back on the fourth and July 9. The under-10 and under-eight are busy playing lots of challenge matches and are doing really well.

CAMOGIERES­ULTS/FIXTURES

The under-12s played Bannow-Ballymitty in Oulart last Tuesday and were unlucky to lose on a scoreline of 1.4 to 2.03. Well done to the under-14s who beat St Martin’s on a scoreline of 4.10 to 3.01. The Juniors play Rapparees on July 12

Congratula­tions to our recent winners in the The Ballagh NS Parents Associatio­n ‘Split The Pot’ draw: Cormac Brady €132, Marie Sutton €125, Marie Kehoe €102, Denise McCormack €166, Eimear Kelly €116, David Ormonde €109 and Eleanor Kelly €113.

Thank You to all who are supporting this fundraiser and so far almost €4000 has been raised. Remember there is a winner every week and draws will continue over the Summer Holidays.

Envelopes can be found in Tim’s Chipper, The Sawdust Inn, The Trading Post, Tony’s Daybreak, Bob’s Bar and Bob’s Shop and Takeaway. All funds raised go towards the Ballagh school fund.
