GAA LOTTO

The St Fintans GAA lotto now stands at €3,000 and tickets can be purchased from local shops and the club grounds on Tuesday evenings from 8 p.m. and from club members at a cost of €1.50. The winner of the jackpot of €3,600 was Aidan Hogan. There is also a match three prize of €300 up for grabs each week and Bob Quilty, Mary Boggan, Brendan Hughes and Bob Wright shared in this prize with the following numbers drawn 4,11,19 and 23. FOREVER FIT

Dancefit Classes in Ballycogle­y continue on Mondays and Wednesdays at 7.30 p.m and Thursdays at 10 a.m. Forever Active 55+ continues on Mondays at 11.30 a.m., a more gentle exercise class to music. BALLYCOGLE­Y HALL

The Ballycogle­y Hall Developmen­t Committee are trying to source old photos of events and activities that have taken place in Ballycogle­y Hall over the years, to display in the hall at a later date. The committee is also looking for donations of pre-loved gently worn clothing for a fundraisin­g ladies night. AFTERNOON TEA

Afternoon tea will be served on the lawn in Mullin’s garden, Mayglass on Sunday, July 10, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. (weather permitting). Donations will be gratefully appreciate­d towards the running costs of the churches. All welcome. Hoping for a nice afternoon.

BARGY VINTAGE CLUB

The Bargy Vintage Club will hold their annual barbecue in Ye Olde Coopers Inn, Killinick on Saturday evening, July 2, from 6 p.m. till late. Music by Point Blank and other. ALL BLACKS AFC

Well done Majella Millar. Second time winner in our split the pot,a total of €485 is on its way to Majella and thanks always to all our supporters,sellers and retailers.

On Saturday we had a Soccer Blitz for u12 Schoolboys at Casey Park. Two Dalkey Utd teams who travelled for the event. Thank you to our hosts Wexford Albion for organising event. Well done to our groundsman and our own officials for all their hard work with shop, facilities and T.L.C.

DAUGHTERS OF CHARITY

Sr. Geraldine will join us on the weekend of July 2/3rd to launch an appeal for the above charity.

ON THE COUNTY TEAM

Well done to the Wexford Junior Football team who have retained their Leinster title with a win over Louth during the past week. Our very own maestro kicker Conor Sinnott hitting 7 points in the 2-12 to 0-9 victory in Dundalk.

An All Ireland semi- final now beckons against the Connaught champions. Well done to the Wexford panel and management with an extra loud shout out to our Conor.

ST FINTANS LADIES

Well done to our u-10 girls who played Glynn at home this evening and coming away winners! Great team performanc­e by all twenty two girls this evening with some excellent scores taken and superb defending and special mention to Rebecca who made some excellent saves in goal! Well done girls super proud of Ye all.

A week last Monday our u-14 ‘s came together in Ballymore to play a home fixture against Ballyhogue. Nineteen of our players took to the field.This was a close encounter with lots of scores providing great entertainm­ent for the spectators. Half time arrived with the scores even. The second half continued score for score. St Fintans were holding on to a one point advantage approachin­g the final whistle when Ballyhogue were awarded a13 metre free, which was duly converted to level the match. Well done girls for your determined efforts until the end.

SCOUTS NEWS

A huge thank you to everyone who supported Kilmore Scouts Monster Fundraisin­g event last weekend. To the parents and families who baked, donated bric a brac, books etc, the Fortune family who kindly donated new season potatoes, the parents, scouts and leaders who manned stalls at Kilmore, Mulrankin and Tomhaggard and everyone who braved the challengin­g weather to support the event.

Thank you to everyone who also supported the Trolley Raffles in Centra Bridgetown last summer, Brady’s Mace June Bankholida­y, Breakfast Morning in Kilmore hall in March, just over €4,000 was raised altogether which is going to defray some of the cost for upcoming Internatio­nal Scout Jamboree in Birmingham, especially for families who have more than one member going.

SWIM WEEK

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

The Ballycogle­y Players drama group will hold its annual general meeting on Thursday, June 30, at 8.30 p.m. in the social centre Tomhaggard. All current and intending members are requested to attend.

ICA GUILD NEWS

At the most recent meeting of the local guild the upcoming Danial O’Donnell concert was discussed. The concert will take place on December 11 with tickets costing E80 and this fee covers your admission ticket,meal and a bus to the venue. Chris Berney was congratula­ted on celebratin­g a special birthday while Lish Mc Donnell was congratula­ted on the birth of her grandson.

The winner of the competitio­n for the best value for a euro was Mary Sinnott with Doris Kelly in second place. The competitio­n for the next meeting is for the best holiday photograph­y. Special occassions day was held on June 8.

BEREAVEMEN­T

Deepest sympathy is extended to the family and friends of Marie Casey RIP, Tenacre, Ballycogle­y who sadly died during the past week and whos remains were laid to rest in Kilmore cemetery. May she rest in peace.

ST FINTANS

Well done to the three St Fintans men Jim Rossitter,Donal Shanley and Joey Wadding all of whom gave sterling displays for the Wexford senior football team in its qualifier versus Fermanagh at Innovate Wexford Park over last weekend. Although beaten the three men from Ballymore/ Mayglass can be proud of their performanc­es. any idea as to their whereabout­s we would be very happy to have them back, as replacing them will prove another cost for the centre finances. Your help will be very much appreciate­d.

PATRON AND FIELD DAY

The Cleariesto­wn field day and Patron will be held on Sunday, July 3. Mass commences at 1.30 p.m. There is no 10 a.m. mass on that day. Field day Immediatel­y follows mass. This is our major Fundraiser for the running costs of our curacy. Raffle Tickets are being circulated and extra tickets are available from the vestry in Church. Please return tickets to parish council members or there will be a box at the back of Church.

Donations are kindly being asked for bottle and produce stalls. Volunteers are much needed and appreciate­d. Thank you for your support.

DRAMA CAMP

A Drama Camp will run from July 11 to July 15 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily at Taghmon GAA Centre. Age four years to 14 years. Join us for summer fun. Explore drama and performanc­e, through games, singing, dance and much more. The camp will be hosted by Paul Walsh and Jeanette Sidney Kelly. CIRCUS CHUCKLES SHOW

The Circus Chuckles stage show takes place in Rathangan Hall this Thursday, June 30. There will be laser light, disco music, jugglers raffle, chuckles, huckster the clowns, daredevil fire breathers and much more. Show time is 6 p.m. to 7 p.m., doors open at 5.30 as a large crowd is expected. Price €5 per person. There will be no sweets or drinks for sale but you can bring your own.

TRX/PILATES CLASSES

CÚL CAMPS

This year’s Kellogg’s GAA Cúl Camp for both Boys and Grils covering Football, Hulrling and camogie will take place in St Anne’s GAA Club Grounds from Monday the 18th to Friday, July 22.
