PARENTS’ ASSOCIATIO­N

The parents’ associatio­n would like to thank any of the Parents and Guardians of the students for their contributi­ons on Monday last of Buns and Cakes for the Graduation, the Raising of the Green Flag, and the reception for Miss Mahon leaving the school. A fantastic day was had by all not forgetting the Mystery Ice Cream van which arrived at the school convenient­ly at the right time and gave everyone ice ceam for free.

The very best of luck to all those who graduated and are moving on to secondary school, welcome to the new Students joining the School in September. Best of luck to Miss Mahon as she takes up her new position as Principal in Clare. We hope that everyone has a great summer with lots of fun See you all in September.

THE PARISH PATRON

We would like to thank all those who helped in anyway on Sunday last at the annual Patron in Glenbrien; to those who collected the money the car park people, the Ladies who provided the tea afterwards in the Old School Centre to the Parish members who came from near and far on the day, and to all those who donated confection­ery for the cup of tea. A huge thank You.

COMMUNITY RAFFLE

Thanks to everybody who supported the Parish Raffle in aid of Church repairs. The winners were – Sandra Doyle, Ballinastr­aw €500 – Mark McClean, Ballinastr­aw €300 – Keith Gray, Cooladine €200.

DIAMOND JUBILEE MASS

You are invited to celebrate the Diamond Jubilee Mass of Monsignor Seamus Doyle (ordained priest June 3, 1956) in St Peter and Paul Church, Glenbrien on Sunday, July 10, at 11.30 a.m., followed by tea or coffee in the Old School Centre. You are also invited to a reception in the Riverside Park Hotel at 5 p.m. Everybody welcome – Family, relations, classmates, neighbours and friends.

CAMOGIE CLUB NEWS

Well done to the intermedia­te women who had a great game against Cloughbawn winning 1-8 to seven points hopefully its the start of a winning week. Dont forget the Junior women play Ferns tomorrow evening at home at 7.30 p.m. and the under-12s are away to Cloughbawn. Best of Luck to all the teams.
