Selskar College has a course to suit you

-

SELSKAR College has been providing further education for the people of Wexford for almost thirty years. Whether you have just completed second level education, or are an adult who would like to return to education, Selskar College should have a course to suit you. The courses are full-time and last for one year.

Need another year to save for college? You could defer your CAO place and take any Level 5 course. Many of our graduates who have gone on to third level have said that they felt better prepared and more confident when they started their college course compared to students who had gone directly from school. They report that their knowledge and skills in relation to working independently, meeting deadlines and compiling assignments and projects really stood to them at college. Our Pre-Third level course could be just the stepping stone you need.

For some of you, the thought of facing classrooms, teachers and exams may seem daunting. Don’t let your anxiety stop you from improving your confidence and chances of employment. You will be supported by friendly, professional staff, who know and understand your family commitments and they will help you to overcome any fears you may have. Projects and assessments for most subjects take place throughout the year so you take control of your own learning and progression throughout the course. Your final grade does not depend on one exam.

When you have successfully completed your course you will be able to continue with further education, or take up employment. Whatever you choose to do, be assured that the skills and knowledge you have achieved at Selskar College will be of great benefit. Should you decide to study further after your course it may interest you to know that there are direct links from our courses into 3rd level places including some of those available at IT Carlow and Waterford IT. You can also use your PLC results instead of your Leaving Cert points to apply through the CAO.

Whether you choose to do a course to further your career or to meet new people and develop new skills, we look forward to meeting you and welcoming you to the college. Please feel free to call in to look at our facilities or to meet with us to discuss any course on offer.
