Boots staff to get on their feet to fundraise for cancer society

Ten staff members from Boots Wexford will get on their feet on September 2 for a night walk in aid of the Irish Cancer Society.

As part of the store’s nationwide Night Walk for Night Nurses initiative, staff and their family and friends will walk 5 k.m. in support of night nurses. The walk will kick off in the evening to reflect the time that nurses come on duty. Participants will walk from Wexford Boat Club towards Drinagh and back into town.

Customers are being encouraged to play their part by purchasing an Honour Tag in honour of a loved one who has experienced cancer. These tags, which will allow for the name of the individual and a personal message, will be brought along on the night walks.

Boots Ireland has partnered with the Irish Cancer Society for four years now and the aim of the partnership is to increase awareness, promote prevention and support people living with cancer in Ireland. To date Boots has raised nearly €900,000 for the Irish Cancer Society and hope to reach €1 m before the end of 2016.
