CAMOGIE CLUB RACE NIGHT

Gusserane Camogie Club is holding a race night on Friday, August 26, at Rosies Bar, Dunmain, starting at 8.45 p.m. It will be hosted by Liam Spratt from South East Radio. There will be 10 races with eight runners in each race. The cost of a horse is €10 and the cost of sponsoring a race is €100. BERLINER PHILHARMON­IKER LIVE

In a live broadcast to Movies@ Gorey at 5.30 p.m., join the Berliner Philharmon­iker and its chief conductor Sir Simon Rattle for the opening concert of the 2016/2017 season with Gustav Mahler’s brilliant Symphony No. 7 and Pierre Boulez’s Éclat.

This concert also includes exclusive interviews and programme insights. FORD FEST IN CRAANFORD

The Ford Fest Parade at 7 p.m. will kick off a weekend of fun in Craanford. The parade will be led by Gorey Pipe Band, followed by competitor­s in the Craanford Rose Competitio­n. Ford Fest will include a carnival each day in the sports complex grounds, a five-a-side soccer tournament, a daily barbecue, and Greens’ famous strawberri­es dipped in chocolate. Music is in the marquee each evening beside the complex with full bar facilities. On Saturday, there’s also a set dancing ceili in the community hall, and on Sunday, the Willy O’Hara tractor dismantlin­g display will be held in the sports ground. Tug o War will be held in the Priest’s Field, followed by a relay race around the GAA field. Funds are being raised for the Craanford underpass. STREET SCENES OF NEW ROSS THROUGH CAVANAGH’S MAGIC LANTERN

Jimmy Fitzgibbon of New Ross Historical Society, will present pictures which have not been seen before, of street scenes of New Ross in the late 1800’s, through the lens of Cavanagh’s magic lantern. A special event for Heritage Week at St. Mary’s Secondary School, New Ross, from 8 p.m. to 9.30 p.m.
