GAA NOTES

Hard luck to our intermedia­te football team, in our final league/ championsh­ip game were beaten 2-09 to 1-08 by Kilenerin, it means we finish in third place and qualify for the quarter final where we will play St Mary’s Maudlintow­n in two weeks’ time.

Next weekend on Saturday the 27th in Cushinstow­n at 5 p.m. we play Our Lady’s Island in final hurling league/championsh­ip game. Please come out and support our teams.

Our club lotto takes place this Tuesday night, the 23rd, in the centre, where the jackpot will be €4,400. Please have your tickets in by 8 p.m.

A reminder, ladies, that closing date for pitch and putt competitio­n is September 1 with competitio­n being held on Saturday, September 17, in Seapoint. Team of four from each federation, entry forms on ICA website. Entry fee €100 which includes green fees and lunch in An Grianán. Please get your entries to Breda Banville ASAP.

COFFEE DAY FOR WEXFORD HOSPICE HOMECARE

Breda and John Whelan from Rath Kyle will be holding a coffee day at their home on Monday, August 29, from 11 a.m. till 8 p.m. All proceeds will go to the Wexford Hospice Homecare. Your support would be greatly appreciate­d.

NEXT MEETING

We are now taking our summer break for the months of July and August. Our next meeting will be held in Camross Hall on September 5 at 8 p.m. We will resume our activity programme with a game of bingo. The competitio­n will be specified closer to the date.
