COMMUNITY LOTTO

There was no winner of last week’s jackpot of €4,200. The winning numbers were 6, 12, 25 and 27. Congratula­tions to the four match-three winners who each received €75. The matchthree winners were Angela Walsh, Liz Rooney, Declan Colfer and J and F Mullins. The next lottery will be held on Tuesday, August 23, and the jackpot now stands at €4,500.

SUNNY SOUTH EAST STROLLERS/STRIDERS

Philomena, Jacintha and Martin (Irish Heart Foundation Trained Community Walking Leaders) would like to invite you to come along to our new four week Strolling programme. Participat­ing in a regular walking programme can boost energy levels, helps relieve stress, reduce the risks of high blood pressure, heart disease and stroke. So let’s get fit and active together. We can stroll for 15 to 25 minutes taking short rest periods where needed. Our new four week programme starts on Monday, September 05, at 7 p.m. in Rathangan Hall, meeting also on Monday the 12th, 19th and 26th. Striders will also meet at the same time; we will all do warm up exercises together and walk out together. (The Community Walkway in Rathangan offers a very safe/steady place to walk.) The Striders will walk for approx 35-45 mins. Tea and coffee afterwards and a chat. KEEP FIT – TRX CLASSES AND PILATES CLASSES

TRX Classes take place in the club house every Monday and Wednesday evenings at 6.30 p.m. and Tuesday and Friday mornings at 9.30 a.m. For further details please contact Kevin Cogley at 086 3656233. Located on the pier of the church in Rathangan, the 24-hour number to contact our Parish AED team is 086 4011688. Call 999/112 first if you suspect a cardiac arrest and then call us. We will have exciting news over the coming weeks about additional AED’s for the parish, and we look forward to sharing it with you... CELEBRATIO­N

The St Anne’s junior football champions of 1966 are celebratin­g the 50th anniversar­y of their historic victory that year. This was the first ever adult county victory for the club. The venue for the celebratio­n will be Baldwinsto­wn Hall. This is the place which they used for togging out and planning, before going up to Rowe’s field to train in the winter for the semi-final and final and where all meetings of the club took place at that time. It is hoped to have all 24 members of that team or their relatives at the function. Noel Rochford from Kilmannon is hoping to be home for it from Australia and all are looking forward to a great night on Sunday, September 18.
